The new trailer for Room, directed by Lenny Abrahamsson and starring Brie Larson doesn’t reveal very much. However, that’s part of what makes it good. Especially if you have an overactive imagination like mine…
I last saw Larson in The Gambler (2015), where she gave a good performance alongside Mark Wahlberg. As such, I’m quite excited to witness more of her talents in this leading role.
Happy eerie Room 🙂

Wow, didn’t know this was going to be a movie. The trailer actually reveals a ton. But I did read something recently that that’s what fans want and need from trailers–the major plot points, spoilers included.
Check out my review of the book if you’re interested: https://leviathanbound.wordpress.com/2015/07/31/room/
Hello Levi 🙂
Thanks for checking out my blog.
Perhaps you see it as more revealing because you’ve read the book and know what happens. I haven’t read it and will wait for the film. All it seems to reveal to me is that they’re stuck in a room, she seems quite nuts and there’s some kind of eventual escape.
The article about fans wanting plot points revealed sounds interesting… Please share a link to the article if you can.
I would read the review of your book, but I don’t want to encounter spoilers 🙂
Cheers

That’s fair, because my review basically states that if you’re interested you should just read the book instead of the review anyway.
This was the EW article I was thinking of: http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/27/trailer-spoilers-southpaw
To show or not to show…that is the question?
Thank you so much for sharing the link. I’m very much in the ‘not to show’ camp. The way things are going at the moment it looks like if I want to avoid trailer spoilers, I’ll have to watch only the teaser trailer. Two of my favourite trailers this year are teasers. (Black Mass and The Revenant) For one of them I’ve seen the ‘full trailers’ that followed and I found them at best redundant.
I’ve been mad at Spoiler filled trailers for a while but it wasn’t until I saw the so-called trailer for Brooklyn that I became enraged enough to write about it.
I was really glad that the article mentioned Inception (2010) because that is still my favourite trailer of all time. What a brain Mr Nolan has!
Brie Larson won a Best Actress Golden Globe for this. Now I really must watch.
