Starring Mackenzie Davis and Caitlin Fitzgerald as ‘so-called friends’, Always Shine is an example of what can happen when jealousy between friends gets out of control.
Davis’s portrayal of a jealous friend is definitely my favourite thing about Always Shine. Neither of the two lead characters comes across as perfect. And I’m surprised to realise that up until this movie, I don’t think I’d ever seen a friendship up close that was so believably poisonous and shady. The talented cast and director Sophia Takal did a wonderful job of creating tension in key moments.

Admittedly, towards the end, I did get lost when trying to fugure out precisely what was going on, and all that it meant. Still, I say watch Always Shine for Davis’s very memorable performance, and maybe you can kindly explain to me what the ending is all about.
Happy Film Loving
