Starring Mackenzie Davis and Caitlin Fitzgerald as so-called friends, Always Shine is an example of what can happen when jealousy between friends gets out of control.
Davis’s portrayal of a jealous friend is definitely my favourite thing about Always Shine. Neither character comes across as perfect but up until this point, I don’t think I’d ever seen a friendship up close that was so poisonous and shady. Davis, Fitzgerald and director Sophia Takal did a good job of creating tension.

Towards the end I did get quite lost in terms of precisely what was going on and all that it mean, but I say, watch Always Shine for Davis’s very memorable performance and maybe you can explain to me what the end is all about.
Happy Film Loving
