SCORE – A FILM MUSIC DOCUMENTARY (2016): New Trailer Featuring Composers Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Quincy Jones…

Score – A Film Music Documentary promises to give us a privileged look inside the musical challenges and creative secrecy surrounding the film score. Written and directed by Matt Schrader; John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Quincy Jones, Trent Raznor and several more of Hollywood’s premier composers are featured…

I don’t really know many film score composers by name, except Hans Zimmer and the unfortunately late James Horner. Zimmer and Horner created music for Inception (2010) and Titanic (1996) respectively. Two films that have undoubtably helped shape the unapologetic and fully dedicated film lover that I have become. I imagine and hope that Horner (who doesn’t seem to have been mentioned in this trailer) will be featured. After all, the Titanic soundtrack is one of the most recognisable. It’s also the first movie soundtrack I ever purchased, thanks to Horner and James Cameron’s great work.

Score: A Film Music Documentary Release Dates: June 16th, 2017 (US)…

  1. James Horner wrote the music to Braveheart – one of the best soundtracks ever! Jerry Goldsmith’s The Burbs soundtrack is probably one of the most underrated soundtracks of all time. I’m looking forward to seeing this one – and I hope my favorites come up 🙂 Thanks for pointing this one out.

      1. I love The Burbs but I seem to be in a minority. Maybe it is because I was young when I first saw it, but I just love that film and its soundtrack. All star cast too.
