The trailer for the sequel to Ride Along (2014) is here. Watch it for at least two laugh out loud moments…

I enjoy Hart most in his standup comedy  and I’ll be watching this because of the two great comedy moments in this trailer. I’m also hoping like crazy, that there’s more good stuff where that came from.

Directed by Tim Story; Olivia Munn, Kevin Jeong and Benjamin Bratt also star.

Release Date (s): January 15th, 2016 (2016) January 22nd, 2016 (UK)…

Happy Ride Along 2 🙂

A new chef movie is on the way for 2015…

Starring Bradley Copper, Omar Sy, Emma Thompson, Sienna Miller and Lilly James, to name just a few, the   story centres around Adam Jones (Cooper) who movies to London to to start afresh after some bad decisions.

The trailer looks good and dramatic. Peculiarly, IMDb has categorised the film as a comedy. Interesting…

Happy Burnt 🙂

PEOPLE PLACES THINGS (2015): Promising Trailer For New comedy Starring Jermaine Clement

Read my spoiler-free movie review of People Places Things (2015).

It looks like I’m about to enjoy more clever writing and super humour in 2015. Thanks this time to the James C. Strouse written/ directed comedy, People Places Things…

Starring Jermaine Clement, Regina Hall, Jessica Williams, Stephanie Allynne and Michael Chernus, I’m really hoping that Strouse’s movie is as welcome a surprise as The Little Death (2014) – probably the funniest movie I’ve seen this year.

Happy People Places Things 🙂

IT’S COMPLICATED (2009): Good Lighthearted Fun Starring Meryl Streep & Alec Baldwin

It’s Complicated is a well cast comedy/ romance starring Alec Baldwin and Meryl Streep.

Written and directed by Nancy Meyers, the film follows a divorced couple who reignite their relationship even though one of them has remarried.

The couple’s complicated situation which also includes three grown up children presents a great opportunity for both comedy and drama; something Meyers took great advantage of – evident in the way the subject matter is handled.

For me, what makes It’s complicated work is Streep and Baldwin’s great onscreen chemistry. The supporting cast which includes Steve Martin, John Krasinski, Zoe Kazan, Lake Bell, Hunter Parrish and Caitlin FitzGerald certainly doesn’t hurt either.

I’m a big fan of Baldwin, thanks in large part to his great work as Jack Donaghy in 30 Rock. As for Meryl Streep, I feel like, to love film is to love her, so there really was no way I would have not watched the film.

Tune in for the subject matter and some good light hearted fun – should you be wanting that sort of thing.

Happy It’s Complicated 🙂

ZOOLANDER 2 (2016): A Teaser Trailer For Ben Stiller’s Return As Derek Zoolander

Zoolander 2 (2016), Ben Stiller
Zoolander 2 (2016), Ben Stiller

Written by Justin Theroux and directed by Ben Stiller, the teaser trailer for Zoolander 2 has arrived and a tease it absolutely is!

The sequel also stars Owen Wilson, Olivia Munn, Penelope Cruz, Kristen Wiig, billy Zane, Fred Armisen, and Christine Taylor.

I can’t wait to see Will Ferrell as Mugatu. His performance in the original Zoolander (2001) film is one of my favourite Ferrell portrayals. Time to re-watch it, also to remind myself of Derek Zoolander’s impressive patented poses; Blue Steel, Ferrari, La Tigre and of course, Magnum.

Happy Zoolander 2 🙂

The latest trailer for Seth Rogen’s new film, The Night Before is here…

Directed by Jonathan Levine, starring Seth Rogen, Antony mackie, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lizzy Kaplan and Jillian Bell, of course it’s a comedy and I already can’t wait.

I’m just glad that as far as I can tell from the trailer, I can’t see any reason why Sony would have to pull out of releasing this one (fingers crossed).

Release Date (s): November 2oth, 2015 (UK), December 4th, 2015 (UK)…

Happy Film Loving  🙂

HOME (2015): I Watched For The Cute Alien & Jim Parsons’ Voice

Home (2015), Tip (Rihanna), Oh (Jim Parsons)
Home (2015), Tip (Rihanna), Oh (Jim Parsons)

I knew I’d end up watching Home, if only because of Jim Parsons, an Actor rightly celebrated for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper in CBS’ The Big Bang Theory.

Also starring Rihanna, Steve Martin, Jennifer Lopez and directed by Tim Johnson, Home centres around a cute purple alien called Oh and his friendship with earthling girl, Tip (Rihanna).

The Boov, Oh’s alien race are undeniably cute and Home has several amusing moments – my favourite of which is when Oh learns about dancing. The way the story of the Gorg is concluded at the end is also great.

You may find the ‘bad English’ / interesting way that the Boov speak quite annoying. I sure did at first. But now, after a second viewing, the word adorable comes to mind instead.

The story is engaging but don’t be surprised if you get the urge to watch The Big Bang Theory as Home plays. Something to do with the pace of Home, perhaps. It could also be more about the power of the brilliant character that is Shelley Cooper.

Happy Home 🙂
