A TALE OF LOVE & DARKNESS (2016), New Trailer From Natalie Portman & Gilad Kahana

A Tale Of Love & Darkness is the new drama starring / directed by Natalie Portman and based on the memoir of Amos Oz. Oz is a journalist, writer and advocate of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The film tells the story of Oz who grew up in Jerusalem in the years before Israeli statehood with Arieh…

The subject matter is interesting and I’m a Natalie Portman fan which is why I’ll watch. However, I’m not sure if this is going to be as good as I’d love it to be. Not to judge a book by its cover of course, but this trailer’s  edit and textual interruptions (not the subtitles) in an ill-advised font has left quite a bit to be desired.

I was hoping to be more excited by Portman’s directorial debut than I am. May this be better than Jane Got A Gun (2016), the last movie I watched that starred Natalie Portman.

A Tale Of Love & Darkness Release Dates: August 19th, 2016 (US)…

LOVING (2016): New Trailer From Joel Edgerton, Michael Shannon & Ruth Negga

Loving (2016), Ruth Negga, Joel Edgerton

Starring Joel Edgerton, Michael Shannon and Ruth Negga, the title of todays movie, Loving isn’t just symbolic because of the nature of the story. It’s also poetic for it’s the surname of the key protagonists Richard and Mildred Loving.

Loving tells the story of the interracial couple whose 1967 court case (Loving v. Virginia, 388 U.S. 1) led to the end of all race-based legal restrictions on marriage in the United States.

I’m looking forward to a well executed story, an important one in the fight for progress and equality.

Directed by Jeff Nichols; Bill Camp, Nick Kroll, Terry Abney and Christopher Mann also star.

Loving Release Dates: November 4th, 2016 (US); February 3rd, 2017 (UK); February 15th, 2017 (FR)…

ANTHROPOID (2016): New Trailer Starring Cillian Murphy & Jamie Dornan

Set in WII, Anthropoid, Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan’s new movie is based on the true story of the mission to assassinate one of Adolf Hitler’s generals, Reinhard Heydrich…

The trailer is good so I’m intrigued. But watching? That will happen because of Cillian Murphy. I’d also like to see Jamie Dornan in something good.

Toby Jones, Charlotte Le Bon and Anna Geislerová also feature.

DENIAL (2016): New Trailer From Rachel Weisz & Timothy Spall

An acclaimed historian fighting in court to defend historical truth, this is the subject of director Mick Jackson’s latest film, Denial.  Based on a true story, Timothy Spall plays David Irving (a renowned holocaust denier) opposite Rachel Weisz’s Deborah E. Lipstadt…

The subject matter is certainly very interesting to me but  I’ll also watch because Rachel Weisz is yet to disappoint me. Of course, Mr Spall, Andrew Scott and Tom Wilkinson aren’t bad either. Lastly,  who doesn’t love the idea of a good courtroom drama?

Denial Release Dates: September 30th, 2016 (US); February 3rd, 2016 (UK)…
