THE BOSS BABY – FAMILY BUSINESS (2021): New Trailer Starring James Marsden, Alec Baldwin, Jeff Goldblum, Jimmy Kimmel…

The Boss Baby – Family Business (2021), Alec Baldwin, James Marsden

The sequel to The Boss Baby (2017) is here, meaning the smart/adult-like, briefcase carrying baby who’s voiced by Alec Baldwin is back.

Also starring James Marsden, Jimmy Kimmel and Jeff Goldblum; in The Boss Baby – Family Business, the Templeton brothers are now grown up and have drifted apart. However, not if a new boss baby with a cutting-edge approach has anything to do with it.

Directed by Tom McGrath; additional key cast includes Amy Sedaris, Lisa Kudrow and Eva Longoria.

I’m so glad to see Alec Baldwin back for this sequel. I’ve just recently finished re-watching his great work in 30 Rock. So I’m definitely in for this one. And it helps that the first Boss Baby movie was so imaginative and fun.

Ariana Greenblatt and James McGrath also star.

Read my spoiler-free movie review of  Sylvie’s Love (2020).

Sylvie’s Love is a story of romance and music; combined with themes of changing times, a changing culture and the true price of love.

Set during a hot summer in 1957; writer/director Eugene Ashe’s film follows Sylvie (Tessa Thompson), a young woman who dreams of becoming a television producer, and aspiring saxophone player Robert (Nnamdi Asomugha) after they meet at Sylvie’s father’s record shop in Harlem, New York.

Doesn’t this one feel just right for the festive season? I want to spend time in the world of Ashe’s movie, and with all the beautiful music, costumes, colours, romantic dialogue and of course, all that love.

I’m also definitely in to watch people following their hearts and dreams.

Eva Longoria, Aja Naomi King, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jemima Kirke, Tone Bell, Alano Miller, Regé-Jean Page, Lance Reddick, John Magaro, Ron Funches, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Erica Gimpel and MC Lyte also star.

DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLD (2019): New trailer From Isabela Moner, Eva Longoria, Michael Peña, Benicio Del Toro…

Dora And The Lost City of Gold is the latest from Michael Peña, Isabela Moner, Eva Longoria and Benicio Del Toro.

Directed by James Bobin and based on the Dora The Explorer children’s television series, a teenage Dora takes on the adventure of high school. However, Dora soon finds her self and some new school friends on a jungle adventure to save her parents and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold…

The fact that Dora is a teenager in this movie and not seven years old like in the series is an interesting change I didn’t expect.

I’m aware of Dora The Explorer but I’ve never actually watched a full episode of the TV series so I shouldn’t really be too attached to Bobin’s film. Yet, oddly enough, a part of me already misses the cuteness of seven year-old Dora. I know, I know, seven year-old Dora is a 2D animation but she’s still super cute.

AI already know that I’m going to try and fail to avoid comparing this movie to Hey, Arnold! The Jungle Movie.

Danny Trejo, Q’orianka Kilcher, Temuera Morrison, Isabela Moner, Madeleine Madden, Jeffrey Wahlberg and Christopher Kirby also star.

Dora And The Lost City of Gold Release Dates: August 2nd, 2019 (US); August 16th, 2019 (UK)…

OVERBOARD (2017): The Things I Liked…

Overboard (2017), Eugenio Derbez, Anna Faris
Overboard (2017), Eugenio Derbez, Anna Faris

Starring Anna Faris, Eugenio Derbez and Eva Longoria, Overboard is a comedy / romance about a very spoiled, wealthy yacht owner who ends up the target of revenge at the hands of his mistreated employee.

Directors Bob Fisher and Rob Greenberg’s movie is exactly as I thought; just the kind of fun ridiculousness I could enjoy – especially when in the mood for an ‘easy-going comedy / romance movie.’

I was moved, amused and the dynamic between Faris and Longoria’s characters is a personal highlight. In fact, I liked the chemistry between the entire cast. There’s a a togetherness and sense of community between them that shone through and made me smile.

I think I wasn’t more enthusiastic at trailer viewing stage because of how the last Eugenio Derbez movie – How To Be A Latin Lover turned out. It might even be safe to say at this point that Derbez has crossed over from the Latin American market straight into my movie loving heart. Something I’m sure had more than a little to do with his characters personal growth as the film progressed.

Having not seen the 1987 version of this movie, I haven’t a clue how they compare. Either way I say watch it when in the mood for an ‘easy’ film and because Faris is always fun.

OVERBOARD (2017), Eugenio Derbez, Anna Faris

Bob Fisher and Rob Greenberg are the directors of Overboard, a remake of the 1987 comedy where a spoiled, wealthy yacht owner is thrown overboard and becomes the target of revenge from his mistreated employee.

Eva Longoria, Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez star…

I kind of know that this is going to be a tad ridiculous but I think it may just be the kind of ridiculous that I don’t find completely intolerable.
