New drama/biography Resistance is the story of a group of Jewish Boy Scouts who worked with the French Resistance to save the lives of ten thousand orphans during World War II.

Written/directed by Jonathan Jakubowicz; key cast includes Jesse Eisenberg, Ed Harris, Edgar Ramírez and Clémence Poésy.

Having recently seen Eisenberg in The Art of Self Defence (2019), where for much of the film he’s far from empowered, I like that in Resistance his character appears brave, heroic and in charge.

Matthias Schweighöfer, Bella Ramsey, Géza Röhrig, Karl Markovics, Félix Moati, Alicia von Rittberg, Vica Kerekes, Tobias Gareth Elman, Kue Lawrence, Christian Clarke and Aurélie Bancilhon also star.

It’s time for a second trailer for Top Gun – Maverick, an action/drama where Tom Cruise’s Top Gun (1986) character teaches new students at the United States Navy’s elite fighter weapons school as they compete to be the best.

Additional key cast includes Miles Teller, Jon Hamm and Ed Harris.

I’m starting to wonder, how many of Cruise’s movies has him riding a motorbike? Probably at least half?

My guess is that Hamm’s character is far from pleased that Maverick is back. The rivalry should be interesting.

Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell, Val Kilmer, Jean Louisa Kelly, Lewis Pullman and Manny Jacinto also star.

Top Gun (1986), an action/drama about students at the United States Navy’s elite fighter weapons school, competing to be the best in the class, finally has a sequel.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, key cast includes Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly, John Hamm and Ed Harris.

Images of Cruise in aviators and a leather jacket, while standing by a plane. That’s really all I knew about Top Gun (1986). It’s all I knew until I looked up the above original synopsis.

As this trailer played, it occurred to me just how much fun Cruise must have while making all his movies. He loves planes, motorcycles and speed. In fact, I’m almost certain that he’s not acting in the main joy-filled picture in this post.

May you also have a passion or passions that make you smile as broadly.

Written and directed by Darren Aronofsky; Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer and Ed Harris are the stars of Mother!, a mystery/horror film about uninvited guests that disrupt a couple’s tranquil existence.

I hope to be brave enough to see this because a part of me wants to start liking scary movies. It should help that I love all the filmmakers involved; Lawrence and Aronovsky because of everything they do, Bardem because of Skyfall (2012), Harris because of The Truman Show (1998)/A History Of Violence (2005), etc., etc…

I also wouldn’t mind hearing more of the beautiful/haunting music in this trailer.

Jovan Adepo, Kristen Wiig and Amanda Warren also star.

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, on here, but, I’m quite the emotional being. Evidence of which is the fact that precisely within 30 seconds of hitting play on the below new trailer for In Dubious Battle, my eyeballs were near enough swimming in their sockets.

Focused on an activist (Franco) fighting in the labor movement for farm workers in California during the 1930s, the cast for In Dubious Battle is pretty impressive. To name just a few, we have Ed Harris, Robert Duvall, Vincent D’Onofrio, Nat Wolff and Selena Gomez. The movie is directed by and starring James Franco.

I’m quite sure I saw another trailer for this movie a few months ago, but it did very little for me, which, perhaps, doesn’t bode so well about what the end result might be like. However, looking on the bright side,  isn’t it amazing what a fresh edit can do?

Analeigh Tipton and Josh Hutcherson also star.
