THE RIP (2026): New Trailer From Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Teyana Taylor, Steven Yeun…

Directed and co-written by Joe Carnahan, The Rip is a new action/crime/drama starring Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Steven Yeun and Teyana Taylor.

Set in Miami, Florida, a group of cops discovers a stash of twenty million dollars in cash. Outsiders soon learn about the money, leaving the officers uncertain of who to trust.

I say yes to gritty, and to Damon and Affleck working together again.

It’s probably because of Good Will Hunting (1997), but I imagined that Affleck would play the one insisting on taking the money, not Damon. However, I’m not mad at this switch because it makes it more interesting.

I wonder if I’ll miss daylight, as this movie plays, since it appears to be set predominantly at night.

Are you in for The Rip?

Scott Adkins, Kyle Chandler, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Sasha Calle, Nestor Carbonell, Lina Esco, Allie Moreno and Chyril Paulann also star.

The Rip Release Dates: January 16th, 2026

It’s time for the next trailer instalment for fantasy/sci-fi/adventure/comedy, Mickey 17.

Starring Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo and Steven Yeun, Mickey 17 is written/directed by Bong Joon Ho, the man behind my favourite film of the last 10 years, Parasite (2019).

I may have mentioned it in my response to the Mickey 17 teaser trailer released months ago, but, I’m into this for all the obvious reasons, but certainly also to see all the shots that show us the wonderfully humorous appearance of Mark Ruffalo’s character.

I don’t think I even need to ask if you’ll watch this one. So, instead, I ask: When are you buying your ticket?

Toni Collette, Angus Imrie, Steve Park, Thomas Turgoose, Afolabi Alli, Patsy Ferran, Chelsea Li, Angus Imrie and Daniel Henshall also star.

Mickey 17 Release Dates: March 7th, 2025 (US & UK)…

Today is a reason to be excited because the writer/director of the film (Parasite (2019) that is my answer to the question ‘What is your favourite movie of the last ten years.’ has a great-looking new film.

The director is of course, Bong Joon Ho, and the movie is Mickey 17. A fantasy/sci-fi/adventure/comedy about a man known as an ‘expendable’ who goes on a treacherous journey to colonize an ice planet.

Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun and Mark Ruffalo are among the key cast.

So many thoughts entered my head as I watched this trailer.

  1. Firstly, it’s delightfully unexpected, so, thank you, movie gods!
  2. I love how much humour comes through; I’m ready for all the layers.
  3. What an intriguing voice Pattinson has adopted here. I like it.
  4. It appears that Ruffalo is playing what is perhaps his most fun-to-watch but fully despicable character. Surely, no one with good intentions and a kind heart has a face that ‘rests’/contorts like that.
  5. Last but not least. how will I feel about death after I finish watching this movie? I wonder.

As a big fan of Parasite (2019), I can’t help but feel happy for all the actors who got to work with Bong Joon Ho in this movie. Especially, since you can just imagine how many would have loved the gig after watching Parasite.

In this moment, it somehow feels right to say, ‘Freedom for Mickey!‘ And, just like Straight Outta Compton (2015), Mickey 17 looks like a film that will highlight the point of why it’s always super important to read contracts in full.

Toni Collette, Angus Imrie, Steve Park, Thomas Turgoose, Afolabi Alli, Patsy Ferran, Chelsea Li, Angus Imrie and Daniel Henshall also star.

MINARI (2020): New Trailer From Steven Yeun, Yeri Han, Alan S. Kim, Yuh-Jung Youn…

Starring Steven Yeun, Yeri Han, Alan S. Kim and Yuh-Jung Youn, Minari is a new drama about a Korean family who move to Arkansas to start a farm in the 1980s.

From writer/director Lee Isaac Chung; additional key cast includes Will Patton, Scott Haze, Eric Starkey and Esther Moon.

I’m excited for Minara to be the next impressive Korean story I get to enjoy, following 2019’s four-time Oscar winning Parasite.

I know that I’m already a fan of the young son character played by Alan S. Kim. I’m also looking forward to more from him and this universal story of family.

Noel Cho, Darryl Cox, Ben Hall, Jacob M Wade, James Carroll, Jenny Phagan and Tina Parker also star.
