Based on a kid’s science fiction book by Tony DiTerlizzi called The Search for WondLa, the latest film from Teri Hatcher, Jeanine Mason, Alan Tudyk and D. C. Douglas is the story of a young woman looking for her place in the world. She does so while running from her robot mother, a tall blue creature and an oversized water beast.
The animation may not be my favourite style visually speaking, but I’m interested in the fantasy of what Earth might be like without humans. Thriving, rejuvenating, peaceful, and green, are just four words that come to mind.
I’m looking forward to seeing what else, while fully aware that this is based on a children’s book, so I should probably temper my expectations.
Chiké Okonkwo, Sarah Hollis, Brad Garrett and Gary Anthony Williams also star.
WondLa Release Dates: June 28th, (US & UK)…
Happy Film Loving,

The premise is a good one. The books are new to me so this could be good in terms of story.
‘Yes, please’ to a good new story, especially about such an intriguing subject matter.
Sounds intriguing, I could use some future fantasy!
Agreed. There is always time for future fantasy. The future, after all, few things are more unknown in this life. 🤓
First time I am seeing the trailer here, G. It looks intriguing from the little bit of world-building here. Might give it a look. I like the voice cast a lot.
I agree with you about the voice cast. Alan Tudyc is usually especially fun.
Looks interesting for sure. Sci-Fi is on the raise and I love it.
This is by Skydance Animation who have a deal with Apple+ and released their first animated movie Lucky on the streaming platform. I thought this was their next one, but it’s actually a series!
Their next movie will be Spellbound at the end of the year.
Based on how much I enjoy this one, I may have to pay more attention to future Skydance/Apple TV+ animations. Thanks for the extra info.
Have you binged the whole season already?
I haven’t yet, but it’s on my list for this month.
