A Minecraft Movie is a new action/adventure/family/fantasy film starring Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Jason Momoa and Jennifer Coolidge.
Directed by Jared Hess; the story begins when an Ender Dragon sets out on a path of destruction. The kind that prompts a young girl and her group of unlikely adventurers to try and save the Overworld.
The above synopsis means absolutely nothing to me as I only know of Mincraft by name. However, the trailer appears to have that light-hearted silliness I could like. Plus, the cast screams fun, doesn’t it?
Right away, I like Brooks and Momoa’s cartoonish look. No doubt, players of Minecraft will be a lot more excited by this.
Kate McKinnon, Jemaine Clement, Myers, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen also star.

The Movie My Life 
So far, the pink deranged-looking sheep and the white nonchalant one are my favorite characters. 😁

They’re probably two of the most fun.
This one came out of left field for me. I’m not on top of the movie news as I used to be, but I did not even hear a whisper of this being in production. I like Minecraft. I played a bit on my own and then some more with the kids. Since Microsoft bought it it became a much bigger thing with microtransactions and countless mods and themes.
The main characters look fun, and the animation/live-action blend was another thing I did not expect, but it looks like they nailed it. I don’t have high hopes, but Momoa seems to becoming a budget version of The Rock. 😀
I didn’t know this was coming either. But then again, I never seek out movie news because I like a good trailer surprise.
As always, I’m down to be amused and to learn something or two about the game.
P.S. I’m not sure if Jack Black needs to be in every video game based movie from now on. I love him in Kung Fu Panda, but I fear oversaturation.
Jack Black cannot be stopped! 😁 He can’t help it if his energy perfectly aligns with what producers are looking for. I say let the man enjoy his blessings! 😁

Actually fans aren’t happy about the movie. There’s already an immediate backlash based on the use of live-action actors in an animated setting. I haven’t played Minecraft, but I honestly agree that it looks pretty bad.
I missed that completely. Thanks for sharing. I guess the fans want the movie to be closer to the game. AS a non-fan, I just want a fun movie. Perhaps they’ll be pleasantly surprised by how much they enjoy it. It is early days.
