Read my spoiler-free movie review of 28 Years Later (2025).
That hit 2002 zombie horror movie 28 Days Later, which starred Cillian Murphy, Brandon Gleeson and Naomie Harris, finally has a great-looking follow-up film called 28 Years Later.
Directed once again by Danny Boyle and co-written by Boyle and Alex Garland of Ex Machina (2015), as the title suggests, the movie appears to be set 28 years after the events of the first film, and it’s Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Jodie Comer and Cillian Murphy who star.
I have not yet watched 28 Days Later. However, based on this trailer being so wonderful that I didn’t know what to do with myself, I’ve decided to be brave and watch it before 28 Years Later is released.
Isn’t the poem that plays over this trailer just perfectly chosen, from the rhythm to the tone of the reader’s voice and everything in between?
Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Erin Kellyman, Edvin Ryding, Edvin Ryding, Chi Lewis-Parry, Alfie Williams and Nathan Hall also star.
28 Years Later Release Dates: June 20th, 2025 (US & UK)…
Happy Film Loving,

Can’t wai to see it! I love so much 28 days later and the sequel was a really good one. So I really hope for this third chapter to be well done. From the trailer seems really interesting.
Agreed, I hope it’s really good, especially for you and all the super fans. This trailer is super promising.
I love Danny Boyle’s films
Me too. It’s always good to see his name pop up as director. I feel similarly about Alex Garland.
Quietly been anticipating this since 2007 when I was tearing tickets for 28 Weeks later which had just come out. My co-workers and I supposed this third installment was inevitable, given the irresistible title. The only question was WHEN. Safe to say I’ll be seeing this🧟♂️☢️
Oh you must watch the first two – Set in London! They closed down that bridge between parliament and the ferris wheel (what’s the name?) to film Cilian Murphy all alone. It’s so eerie. And it’s a roller coaster from there. Tense and brutal at times to be sure. But an adventure. Harry Potter 7 Part 1 stole from it. (Roaming the English countryside checking bleak Radio broadcast for word of loved ones)… Then the sequel, 28 Weeks later is much different vibe. It’s more of the Blockbuster Zombie horror movie versus the first one is more Indy-film style.
I love that you have a vivid memory attached to this franchise.
I remember hearing about the closing down of that famous bridge and ‘The London Eye.’ 🤓 if it were not for the part-horror classification, I’d probably have seen 28 Days Later already. I managed to sit through and love Train to Busan, so, this should hopefully be okay. And it’s true, I do love it when movies are set in places I’m familiar with, especially my city.
I am now tempted, indeed. 😳😁
The London Eye, Ty!🎡 Right, 28 is just Train to Busan with a stiff upper lip👻
😁 Sounds about right.
Exciting times. Can’t wait this next instalment to be released.
