Starring Awkwafina and written/directed by Lulu Wang, The Farewell is a new comedy about a Chinese family’s attempts at keeping their grandmother’s impending death a secret from her.

Also starring Diana Lin,  Tzi Ma and Gil Perez-Abraham; the story is centred around Billi (Awkwafina) who’s struggling most with keeping the secret.

I suspect that the grandma is fully aware of what ‘s going on. Just as her own daughter knows of the tradition, so does she.

This one has me excited to find out how it will all come together; the execution of the mood and the way I’ll feel about it. Also can’t wait to learn some new things.

Ines Laimins, X Mayo and Jim Liu also star.
