An animated comedy about what our pets get up to when their human families are out of the house; I found The Secret Life Of Pets 2, the sequel to 2016’s animated hit The Secret Life Of Pets to be a much better film than I expected. 

I really enjoyed the fun adventures of Chloe, Max, Snowball, Gidget and friends; particularly the way all the separate stories were written to work well together. There’s also a good number of fun and memorable scenes, moments and new characters to take in.

One of my favourite scenes happens at the veterinary office waiting room, especially the moment when ‘starting fires’ is mentioned. Character-wise, Rooster who’s brilliantly voiced by Harrison Ford is an unforgettable new character.

Overall, there’s really zero doubt in my mind that if you had a good time with The Secret Life Of Pets, this sequel too will be fun. I only advise that you remember to leave your ideas of ‘what would really happen in real life’ at the door. This is especially important in reference to the ‘silent new character’. 

Watch it because it’s fun, good and features great voice work by the likes of Kevin Hart, Nick Kroll, Tiffany Haddish, Patton Oswalt, Jenny Slate, Eric Stonestreet and more.
