New drama/romance/biography, Queer is the latest from Luca Guadagnino, director of this summer’s popular tennis movie Challengers, which starred Zendaya.
Daniel Craig is Willam Lee, an outcast American expatriate in 1950s Mexico who develops an infatuation with a younger man named Eugene Allerton (Drew Starkey).
Based on a 1985 William S. Burroughs novella of the same name, Queer is a movie I’m curious about because of Daniel Craig (my favourite Bond), 1950s Mexico, and Guadagnino’s visuals/cinematography.
Queer also reminds me of Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara’s Carol (2015), a rather good tale of forbidden love, also set in the 1950s, though in New York City.
I suspect that at least one heart will break by the end of this. Do you sense it too? It would be wonderful to be wrong.
Jason Schwartzman, Daan de Wit, Henrique Zaga, Colin Bates, Simon Rizzoni, Drew Droege, Ariel Schulman and Omar Apollo aso star.
Queer Release Dates: November 27th, 2024 (US); December 13th, 2024 (UK)…
Happy film Loving,

I wonder if this will have a memorable ending like Challengers did. I haven’t seen many Luca Guadagnino movies but I’d like this to be my second.
I like this plan. I think Queer would be my second Guadagnino movie as well. 🥂
It would be nice if nobody’s heart broke. 🙂 I like it when everyone turns out happily, like in “Whatever Works.”
Isn’t that the truth! Perhaps we’ll all be pleasantly surprised. Chances of a happy ending are likely tricky because the story is set in the 50’s but we’ll see.
😮 Hopefully! 🙂
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Carol was fabulous !
Absolutely! 🤓🥂
I’m digging the 50’s scenery, and I’m a fan of Burroughs work, definitely going on my list!
Agreed. Very cool scenery. It’ll be interesting to learn what the scenery of today will look like to humans 75 years from now.
I really try not to think about that! 😉
Understood. 🤓
