The second trailer for the latest retelling of Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat is here.
Starring Bill Hader, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson and Giancarlo Esposito, the animated/comedy/adventure promises mayhem and mischief in great measure.
There seems to be a lot going on here. And since the story is still largely new to me, hopefully, I can keep up.
I suspect I’ll enjoy the ‘Things’ quite a bit. Maybe not to the level of my obsession some years ago with the yellow Minions of The Minions and Despicable Me movies, but I sense a strong attachment coming.

I’m glad they didn’t rely on lame jokes like the first trailer, but this just isn’t grabbing me. Not like the book and yes, even the Mike Myers movie that I still secretly enjoy.
I did notice the change in direction with this trailer compared to the first one. Perhaps the editors are paying attention. 🤓
It’s making more sense with this trailer. Animation is fun as well. But the Dr. Seuss world was always very strange to me. Kind of hit and miss when it comes to adaptations. For some reason I loved Lorax.

It has very catchy songs and a strong environmental message. My kids were very young when it came out which probably contributed to my enjoyment. 😁
Most catchy songs are worth remembering. Also, it’s always good to understand why certain films hit you exactly right when you watched them. 😁
