Directed by Andrew Stanton and McKenna Harris, Toy Story 5 has a brand new teaser trailer. One in which a very different kind of toy arrives on the scene.
I love that they got this first teaser trailer exactly right. The world of toys has indeed changed, and Disney would be missing several beats if screens/electronics weren’t part of the toy story/experience this time around.
Fingers crossed that this fifth instalment joins Inside Out 2 (2024) as one of Disney’s better animated releases in recent years. I just know that as long as Tom Hanks is around, and long may he be, I hope that new Toy Story movies will keep being made.
I wonder if a Labubu-type toy will also be featured. Perhaps that’s being saved for Toy Story 6, assuming that’s coming.

Should’ve ended with Toy Story 3, but I can’t say no to the Pixar franchise so I’m happy to see it no matter what.
My memory of the other instalments isn’t great. right now. Hopefully, this one will make me even more convinced they have to continue making them. And keep reflecting the changing trends (where kids’ toys are concerned) in the story. Doing that well can keep the franchise fresh-ish.
