Andrew Garfield, Cooper Hoffman and Monica Barbaro are the stars of Artificial, a new biography/comedy/drama about the rise of OpenAI and the period surrounding the firing and rehiring of its co-founder and CEO, Sam Altman.

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, additional key cast members include Chris O’Dowd, Jason Schwartzman, Zosia Mamet and Mark Rylance.

I am curious. However, even though this is not a documentary, my first thought was whether it was made too soon. Since it’s largely focusing on a specific moment in time instead of telling the story of Altman, I guess now is as good a time as any.

I wonder whether Altman is as much of a ‘villain’ as Zuckerberg’s character was in The Social Network.

How is this rather scary-looking trailer landing with you?
