THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE (2019): New Trailer From Adam Driver, Jonathan Pryce, Olga Kurylenko, Stellan Skarsgård…

The Man Who Killed Don Quixote (2018), Adam Driver, Alacran Pictures

Directed by Terry Gilliam, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote is an adventure / comedy / drama starring Adam Driver, Jonathan Pryce, Olga Kurylenko and Stellan Skarsgård.

At the centre of the story is Toby (Driver), a disillusioned advertising executive who’s pulled into a world of time jumping fantasy when he’s mistaken someone else. Gradually Toby becomes unable to tell dreams from reality…

I’d say that peculiar is the right word for this trailer. I’m interested because of the hints of humour, the cast and because I want to find out whether by the end, I’ll actually want Don Quixote killed. Perhaps I’ll find him charming.

Joana Ribeiro, Jorge Calvo, Bruno Sevilla and Jordi Mollà also star.

BLACKKKLANSMAN (2018): The Things I Liked…

Blackkklansman (2018), John David Washington, Topher Grace
Blackkklansman (2018), John David Washington, Topher Grace

Blackkklansman is the true story of Ron Stallworth, an African-American police officer from Colorado who successfully infiltrated the local Ku Klux Klan and became the head of the local chapter.

Starring John David Washington, Adam Driver and Topher Grace, Blackkklansman is an engaging, suspenseful and entertaining experience from start to finish.

Considering the backdrop of a very racially tense time in America, director Spike Lee does a good job of delivering tension and suspense mixed in with humour and iconic imagery of the 1970s. From the style, fashion, music as well as the general mood and atmosphere. Lee serves it all up without forgetting the all important message, particularly in reference to the past and present encouragement of racial violence by political forces.

I enjoyed the general cleverness of Lee’s directorial execution as well as the execution of Stallworth’s police investigation. The brotherhood between the investigative team is also a highlight, along with the vision of so many healthy looking afros and being reintroduced to the following rather joyful song…

Too Late To Turn Back Now by Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose

Watch it because all the tension and suspense pays off in quite the satisfying way.

Co-written and directed by Spike Lee; John David Washington, Adam Driver and Topher Grace are the stars of BlacKkKlansman, the true story of Ron Stallworth, an African-American police officer from Colorado.

Stallworth is known for successfully infiltrating the local Ku Klux Klan and becoming the head of the local chapter…

With a title like that, I’m glad this movie is at least partly a comedy. I really appreciated the slow motion turn 00:33 seconds into the trailer.

And of course, for fan’s of excellent comedian Dave Chappelle, there’s almost certainly no reading this movie’s title and watching this trailer without remembering one of the best ever characters of The Chappelle Show, Clayton Bigsby.

LOGAN LUCKY (2017): New Trailer For Steven Soderbergh Movie Starring Channing Tatum, Daniel Craig, Adam Driver…

Logan Lucky (2017), Channing Tatum

Director Steven Soderbbergh’s new movie is a comedy starring Channing Tatum, Daniel Craig, Adam Driver and Hilary Swank –  to name just a few. The story centres around two brothers and their attempt to pull off a heist during a NASCAR race in North Carolina…

Such a pleasant surprise to see Daniel Craig’s face in this trailer. I imagine that the impressive cast list for this movie was probably ready to do everything in their power to secure a chance to work with Soderbergh. You know, just in case he decides to retire from films one more time, right after this one.

Katie Holmes, Riley Keough, Katherine Waterston, Sebastian Stan, Katie Holmes, David Denman, and Jack Quaid make up some of the aforementioned impressive stars.

STAR WARS – THE LAST JEDI (2017): New Trailer Starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver…

The latest trailer for the new Star Wars movie, Star Wars – The Last Jedi is here. Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Adam Driver, the story continues with Rey (Ridley) on her epic journey with Finn, Poe and Luke Skywalker following the events of Star Wars Episode 7 – The force Awakens (2015)

I like the first 20 seconds of this trailer. After that though, it becomes a little tedious and leaves me thinking, ‘I know how to breathe but what else have you got?’ I found the trailers for the previous Star Wars movie far more exciting and thrilling – teaser trailer or not. It’s probably too early to call it of course. So I wait.

SILENCE (2016): New Trailer From Director Martin Scorsese, Starring Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, Liam Neeson…

Silence (2016), Adam Driver
Silence (2016), Adam Driver

Oscar winning director Martin Scorsese’s latest movie doesn’t look like it has a single gangster in sight.

Starring Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver as Jesuit priests in the 17th century, the film follows the pair to Japan where they go on a dangerous journey to find their mentor (Liam Neeson) and spread the word about Christianity…

I’m looking forward to finding out what magic Scorsese can create in what looks like a very different genre of film than what we’re used to expecting from the acclaimed director.

PATERSON (2016): New Trailer Starring Adam Driver

Paterson (2016), Adam Driver
Paterson (2016), Adam Driver

Adam driver is Paterson, a bus driver / poet in the new Jim Jarmusch directed comedy drama, Paterson. Quite poetically, Paterson also happens to be set in Paterson, New Jersey and promises to be an interesting observation of what often happens in daily life and the poetry it can inspire…

I’m curious about this movie because of Driver. I’d like to believe there’s something very special about it because he chose to be in it. I’m also a poetry fan, when it’s good. However, one truth is very clear at this point. This trailer is nothing if not a definite sleep inducer. May the poetry featured please not be so.

Golshifteh Farahani and Chasten Harmon also star.

Paterson Release Dates: November 25th, 2016 (UK); December 28th, 2016 (US)…

WHAT IF (2013): For The Comedy & Relatable Love & Life Challenges

What If (2013), Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan
What If (2013), Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan

Thanks to good writing and a very talented cast, What If is funny, kind of kooky, possesses an uncommon realness and features a well chosen musical score.

Daniel Radcliffe, Adam Driver, Zoe Kazan, Rafe Spall, Meghan Park and Mackenzie Davis are the stars of this Michael Dowse directed comedy / romance.

Kazan, an actress I’ve loved since the beautiful Ruby Sparks (2012) is as adorable as ever and the chemistry between her character and that played by Radcliffe is certainly convincing. What If is a movie you watch for the comedy, the relatable predicaments faced by the characters and the useful wisdom about life and love.
