MY NAME IS ALFRED HITCHCOCK (2022): New Documentary From Mark Cousins, Featuring Cary Grant, Sean Connery…

From writer/director Mark Cousins, My Name Is Alfred Hitchcock is a new documentary about the celebrated filmmaker whose illustrious career spanned five decades.

Cousins’s film features a fictional Alfred Hitchcock narrating and explaining some of the lesser-known cinematic techniques employed in his movies.

We can expect rich illustrations with clips from the director’s entire career; plus, well-known names such as Cary Grant, Sean Connery and Paul Newman, to name a few.

Interesting concept, isn’t it? Getting a fictional Hitchcock to narrate a documentary about himself.

I confess to not knowing as much about Hitchcock as I probably should. I also haven’t watched most of his films. What I know is that, so far, Rear Window (1954) is likely my favourite. Perhaps, My Name Is Alfred Hitchcock will kickstart an exploration.

What role does Hitchcock play in your life as a film fan?
