Guy Richie directs Mena Massoud, Billy Magnussen, Will Smith and Naomi Scott in Disney’s live action remake of Aladdin.

The following trailer is just a teaser but in case you forgot, the story of Aladdin starts when a sultan gives his daughter, Jasmine three days to find a husband. She escapes the palace and encounters the street-savvy Aladdin who charms his way into her heart…

For a moment there I was thinking, ‘are they really not going to show any footage, at all?’ and then the scene with the lamp happened and though it’s hardly anything, I was certainly happier than expected.

I didn’t actually realise I’d forgotten most of Aladdin’s story until I looked up the synopsis. Time to rewatch the animated version, I think.
