Written/directed by Wim Wenders, Pope Francis – A Man of His Word is a new documentary about the pope’s ideas, his message, his work of reform and answers to today’s global questions.

This appears to be a personal journey with Pope Francis, rather than a biographical documentary about him.

I’m interested in the spectacle and in hearing some potentially useful words of wisdom.

Some random thoughts that went through my mind as I watched this trailer include: ‘I’m convinced that it’s true what they say about the Italian language, I already know that it’s musical, and that’s part of the reason I love it. But more than that, no matter the voice or the words being spoken, the language of Italy always sounds fantastic to my ears.’

Of course, he very likely doesn’t, but for a moment there, I was shocked to learn that the Pope had tattoos on his feet. I thought that the foot at 1:29 into the trailer belonged to him. Because, surely he’d be ‘the kissed’, not ‘the kisser’ of said foot. Perhaps I have much to learn, another reason to watch.
