The Outsider tells the story of an American former G.I. who joins the yakuza (transnational organized crimesyndicate) during post-WWII Japan.

Directed by Martin Zandvliet; the key cast includes Jared Leto, Tadanobu Asano and Kippei Shîna.

I’m always ready for some slick onscreen badassery. Therefore, having seen this trailer, I’m now even more excited about the sequel to The Equalizer (2014), because towards the end of this trailer, I was reminded of my favourite scene in it. The one that involves a very swift move with a gun.

May this please be one of the better Netflix movies.

Before I read the synopsis, I wasn’t sure that the trailer had convinced me to watch. However, now that it’s clear this film is about having to find a plan B where there wasn’t one before, now I’m really quite curious.

I’m going to wait until my mood is exactly right to sit through this film’s seemingly melancholic but likely hopeful vibe.

For those who believe in the ultimate power of nurture over nature, and for those who don’t, Birthmarked, Toni Collette and Matthew Goode’s latest Emanuel Hoss-Desmarais-directed comedy, sure sounds like fun.

Collette and Goode play two scientists who choose to raise 3 children contrarily to their genetic tendencies, all for the purpose of proving  the  power of nurture over nature.

I kind of think that raising kids at all is an experiment, whether parents like it or not. It’s just that not everyone’s parents are ‘mad scientists’, unlike the parents in this trailer.

I’m so ready for the seemingly kooky madness and of course the results. I definitely want the results!

Michael Smiley, Tyrone Benskin, Suzanne Clément and Fionnula Flanagan also star.

I’m an Evans fan, and I just want to find out what the kidnapped woman did to drive an outwardly ordinary-looking man to the desperate lengths in this trailer. That is all.

Noel Clarke, Jason Maza and Olivia Chenery also star.

Written/directed by Adam Rifkin; The Last Movie Star stars Burt Reynolds, Ariel Winter and Chevy Chase in a universal story about growing old.

Reynolds plays an ageing former movie star forced to face the reality that his glory days have come to an end.

I haven’t seen Reynolds in a film for a while, and most of the stories I hear about him in his later years are about how very physically able he still is. In which case, I’m thinking that he probably acted his socks off to look as fragile as he does in this trailer.

The story of ageing intrigues me too, of course, but I’m watching just to see how much I buy Reynolds’s physical portrayal of the man he’s playing. That’s a good reason. I sense you agree.

Ellar Coltrane, Nikki Blonsky, Clark Duke also star.
