Talented American fashion designer Halston reigned over fashion in the 1970s and became a household name. Things did have to change in the Wall Street era and Halston ended up taking the biggest gamble of his life…
Written / directed by Frédéric Tcheng, Halston is a new documentary about Roy Halston Frowick who is most commonly known as simply Halston…
Before this trailer, the only Halston I knew of was Halston Sage. I’m now looking forward some truths about the business side of fashion, in this case, when things don’t go in the way of the designer. I’m also in for the interesting character study.
Tcheng’s film features interviews/commentary by Liza Minnelli, Marisa Berenson, Joel Schumacher, Naeem Khan and Bob Colacello among others.

I watched it…having lived through the 70’s, but in no way near the in crowd, it was a bit of a trip down memory lane. It was hard to watch such talent fall into addiction.
It seems like addiction gets far too many great talentts, sadly. There’s also a five-part Halston biopic on Netflix starring Ewan McGreggor that was released recently. The trailer didn’t do much for me so I didn’t feature it. But apparently it’s not completely terrible.
Oh..I got them confused. It was the Netflix five parter I thought I was commenting on. Oops.
No worries! 😁
I’m glad you didn’t find it terrible.
