Brothers by Blood, a.k.a, The Sound of Philadelphia, a.k.a, Sons of Philadelphia are the three names for the latest action/crime/drama starring Matthias Schoenaerts, Joel Kinnaman and Ryan Phillipe.
Set within the Philadelphia mob; director Jérémie Guez’s movie is a tale of family, friendships and betrayal.
I’m honestly not sure how this one’s going to turn out. But what I can bet on is a good Schoenaerts’s performance. Fingers crossed that everything else around his performance falls into place. In which case I won’t have to suggest that you’re better off watching/re-watching The Drop (2014); a very good mob story and another notable Schoenaerts role.
Maika Monroe, Paul Schneider, Nicholas Crovetti, Antoni Corone, Felix Scott, Tim Ahern, Nigel Barber, James Nelson-Joyce, Stilian Keli and Carlos Schram
Brothers by Blood Release Dates: January 22nd, 2021 (US)…

I’ve never heard of the Drop. Might have to check it out if I can find it to watch it.
The Drop is definitely worth watching. I already knew before then that James Gandalfini and Tom Hardy were great, but Matthias Schoenaerts is forever on my rader since that movie. I hope you find it and enjoy it.
I think it might be on Amazon Prime. I just looked it up. It has a of good actors. Guess I know what I’ll be watching this weekend. 👍
Yeah! 🥳🤓
Have a great weekend, Christy, and stay well.
You as well. 😀
I like the look of this film, and also The Drop too, I love the actor Tom Hardy he is one of the most versatile actors and always delivers an intense performance 🎭 thanks for your review 🙂
You’re very welcome. 🤓
Hardy is amazing, indeed. And long may he continue to keep us gripped! I think I’m going to have to re-watch The Drop. After all, it’s been more than 6 years since first viewing.
Looking for the film The Drop now 😉 I really liked Hardy in the film Locke, as well as in the TV shows Taboo and Peaky Blinders, he’s great.
I think, Christy, who also commented on this post found The Drop on Amazon Prime Video.
I absolutely L.O.V.E Locke! It’s one of, if not the best examples of a movie remaining thoroughly engaging, when a lot of it takes place without dialogue and with only one character on screen.
Yeah me too… it should have won him an Oscar I think. Yes such a simple concept for a film, just a guy driving but it’s his sheer talent and charisma that makes it amazing and also a great script, can’t forget that too, the writing is so important. As there’s not any scene changes, something like that would be great as a 1 man theater show probably too
Steven Knight is the writing/directing talent behind Locke. And I agree,a stage version of the film would be very interesting indeed.
I’m such a Joel & Mattias fan.. love this!
They both certainly have a special something. For me, Matthias in particular. 🤓
