Read my spoiler-free movie review of The Suicide squad (2021).
The super-secret and highly shady Task Force X is the team responsible for gathering The Suicide Squad; a selection of Super-Villains including Harley Quinn, Peacemaker, Bloodsport, and other convicts from Belle Reve prison.
Dropped off at Corto Maltese, a remote, enemy-infused island, The Suicide Squad are tasked with destroying Jotunheim, a Nazi-era prison/ laboratory.
Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, John Cena and Viola Davis star, while James Gunn directs.
I still remember how excited I was after watching the trailer for the 2016 Suicide Squad movie. I’m looking at this as a do-over, in hopes that it will be the story that Robbie’s excellent turn as Harley Quinn always deserved.
This is one good looking trailer indeed. I can’t wait to enjoy the dialogue and take in all the colours plus, the exciting spectacle of it all.
Sylvester Stallone, Jai Courtney, Michael Rooker, Alice Braga, Nathan Fillion, Pete Davidson, David Dastmalchian, Sean Gunn and Mikaela Hoover also.
The Suicide Squad Release Dates: August 6th, 2021 (US & UK)…
Happy Film Loving

I was surprised that I liked the first Suicide Squad so looking forward to this one.
That’s great. I found things to like about it but overall I was disappointed. A feeling compounded by how impressive I was by the trailer. Nevertheless, it should be interesting to see which you like best out of the two.
You forgot to add Joel Kinnaman to your star-studded line-up! He was the star of the first season of Netflix’ Altered Carbon that Anthony Mackie took over for in the next season. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better line-up of actors, known and unknown, in a movie! Wow! Lots of beautiful bodies too which is always nice. About Robbie, I hope she keeps doing straight-up drama movies in addition to the comic book universe, as she’s one hell of an actress! (e.g. I, Tonya)
I’m not even sure how I managed to leave Kinnaman off the list, but I’ve now, very gladly corrected my mistake. Thank you for letting me know. 🤓👍 I keep hearing about Altered Carbon so it’s now on my list. Especially since I too love a good selection of actors. Even more so when it’s unexpected. Harley Quinn is indeed Robbie’s most iconic role. Given her acting gifts, it’s exciting to see which of her future roles could come close.
Awesome on all! Agreed on Robbie.
Those trailers for the first movie were so good! I thought this one was a little meh so maybe that’s a good thing? 🙂
I enjoyed this new trailer but it didn’t have me slapping the wall with delight because there was no one to high-five as I watched it. Where as the trailers for the first movie did. 🤓
I can not wait to see this. I enjoyed the first one. Was it flawed, sure but it was still fun. This one looks to be even better and yes, fun. So fingers crossed we wont be disappointed.
I agree that it looks like a good audio-visual spectacle. Also, as always, fingers, toes and everything crossed. 🤓
Some of the characters are a bit hard to get excited about. The polka dot guy & the big fish? But I’m sure I will end up liking it. The first one was a blast! Think I saw that Sylvester Stallone is involved in some way?
I’m actually excited about the shark; in part because it’s played by Sylvester Stallone. The first one had some good parts but overall, I found the trailers to far better than the movie. There’s hope for this one yet, luckily; even with the seemingly less exciting characters. 🤓🤞
I Think Anya Taylor-Joy should be casting as Poison Ivy/Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley In DCEU
Another good suggestion. Are you an existing or aspiring casting director? 🤓
