Directed and co-written by Josh Boone, X-Men – The New Mutants follows five young mutants who are just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will. They must fight to escape their past sins and save themselves…
The X-Men young mutant story is one I’m more familiar with than I particularly care to be. However, this one has my attention because of the ‘horror’ and the setting / psychoanalysis element. There’s also the fact that no mention of ‘coming together to save the world’ has taken place, a pleasant surprise for those fatigued by the super hero movie story formula.
It looks like 2016 is the year of the western because The Duel is a brand new one that stars The Hunger Games co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson…
For this particular movie, I’ve made the decision to look way beyond the highly questionable choice of trailer music and dig down deep in hopes for the best.
I’m getting a little bit of a Colonia (2016)vibe, which isn’t a bad thing. in fact – Lena, the character played by Emma Watson is my current reference for when I need to have courage in a challenging situation. ‘Be brave like Lena’ I say to myself.
