F9, the latest instalment in the Fast & Furious franchise finally has a release date that looks as though it’s going to stick. And to celebrate, a new trailer starring John Cena, Vin Diesel, Charlize THeron, Helen Mirren and many more has been released.

I’m mostly curious about the Cena/Diesel dynamic, and maybe a little of the far from realistic action and stunt sequences.

Also, it only just occurred to me how much the Fast and Furious movies seem to feature the kind of action you might expect when two four/five year old boys are playing together with all their toy cars. I’m not saying the stunts are terrible, mind you. Just that the sort of vehicular activity in this trailer is very reminiscent of my brothers and cousins happily playing when they were five.

Lucas Black, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Michael Rooker, Finn Cole, Cardi B, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Jim Parrack, Tyrese Gibson and Anna Sawai also star.

Fast & Furious 9 Release Dates: June 25th, 2021 (US); July 8th, 2021 (UK)…

Happy Film Loving

  1. You know those two look enough alike to be brothers! Nobody is going to one-up Vin’s voice, and nobody is going to beat him, period. He’s the baddest of the badasses. Lots of eye candy in this one. I’ve grown tired of big Hollywood stunts for the most part, but for the Fast & Furious I’ll make an exception 🙂

    1. I’m happy you like the look of this, and yes, they do look alike. F&F has always had strong eye candy. 😁
As for the action, it’s not so easy these days to delight audiences with cool stunts without sacrificing the believability element. And you’re absolutely right; Diesel’s Dom will undoubtedly come out on top. But it’s going to be fun to watch Cena’s character try his very best. 😁

  2. I was so disappointed when this kept getting pushed back, but so have so many other movies due to the apocalypse. The stunts do get a bit far reaching, but it’s all so fun. And I can’t wait to see how Han is back. I have been waiting for this for a year, so I guess we can wait a tad bit longer.

    1. I almost don’t believe that all the waiting for the movies we wanted to see last year is nearly over. Fun is definitely the important word with movie slike this. The movie I’ve been waiting for most is the Bond film… if that ever comes! 😁🤞🙏

      1. Oh my yes! My hubby is a huge Bond fan and he’s been dying every time it gets pushed back. I can’t wait also til we finally get to see it.

  3. Fun fact – big action films capturing the spirit of kids playing with toys is something I love when a director nails it. San Andreas and Monster Trucks spring to mind off the top of my head, but the Fast Franchise does pretty well at it for sure.

And as a massive fan of the franchise, and Han, I am stoked for his resurrection and plotting a rewatch of all Han instalments, “Han-o-logically” as per this piece:

    1. It makes complete sense that Monster Trucks would take us back to kids playing with toys. I’m surprised that I hadn’t picked up on that element until this trailer. 😁 Maybe because the most I ever did with any small toy car I encountered was push it along surfaces at varying speeds. 😁 It looks like F9 is going to be extra special, and not just because we had to wait a whole year for it.

      1. Yeah, I confess I was more one to have toy farm and zoo animals doing wild leaps in the air and surviving tsunamis etc. But it’s alway such a fun vibe.
