From writer/director Clio Barnard comes new England-set drama Ali & Ava; a story about two people, both lonely for different reasons, and for whom sparks fly.
Ali & Ava stars Claire Rushbrook, Adeel Akhtar and Ellora Torchia.
It’s the combination of the music and story editing that had me moved; no doubt in part due to the chemistry between the two leads. There’s also my general appreciation of stories about unexpected friendships.
Even with all the above stated, I’m still not sure whether I’ll end up watching Ali & Ava. However, as always, anything is possible as long as the right mood hits. Until that time arrives, I’m going to keep replaying this well-executed trailer.
What are your thoughts on director Barnard’s trailer? Are you moved, intrigued, just into the music, or something else?
Natalie Gavin, Shaun Thomas and Tasha Connor also star.
Ali & Ava Release Dates… March 4th, 2022 (UK)…

Looks really good to me.
Agreed. I still haven’t seen it yet but I think the feedback overall has been quite positive.
Just looked and not available yet at my branch of the library to borrow.
I see. Hopefully you’ll get it sooner rather than later. 🤓🙏
Movies that come across as roller coaster rides often are; these films may be among the most wonderful, but they can also easily be busts. If they’re the latter, they can be the most frustrating to watch because you sense potential greatness at work just behind the scenes, whether colorful or not, and yet something keeps bring it down down DOOOWN *slowed voice*

Love your comment, thank you 🤓
I’m yet to watch but I hope it’s a good one. Also, I agree with you about rollercoaster movie trailers. Nothing worse than when the best part of a movie is the trailer.
Im intrigued by the story, and the music. I recognize the first 🎵number from the trailer – “Radio” by Sylvan Esso. But not the 2nd, when the trailer really hits its stride.
Well done on recognising the first song, and naming it. 🤓
I recognise both songs too, only I couldn’t name them or the associated artists if my life depended on it. I’d try and probably end up saying something like Alesso or Calvin Harris. 😁
whoever edited the trailer did a good job first min was lovely. I Try to avoid romance dramas but this does look interesting.
ALI & AVA: Sparks fly after ALI and AVA meet through their shared affection for Sofia, the child of Ali’s tenants whom Ava teaches. Ali finds comfort in Ava’s warmth and kindness while Ava finds Ali’s complexity and humour irresistible. As the pair begin to form a deep connection they have to find a way to keep their newfound passion from being overshadowed by the stresses and struggles of their separate lives and histories.
It is a beautiful one, right? I had to hit play again as a soundtrack to my reply to you. 🤓
