Kelvin Harrison Jr., Samara Weaving, Lucy Boynton and Minnie Driver are the stars of new biographical drama, Chevalier. A Stephen Williams-directed story about the illegitimate son of a slave and a plantation owner who rises to unexpected heights in French society as a composer.
The composer is Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges.
At least two audible yelps of excitement escaped my lips as I watched this trailer. And the reasons are as follows. I am a bigger fan of Kelvin Harrison Jr. than I realised. Particularly after his work in Waves (2019). Secondly, this clever trailer edit grabbed my attention, refused to let go, and I’m not mad about it. Thirdly, hello, compelling true story about an underdog making all his doubters choke almost violently on their words. (admittedly, one of my favourite things in any story). There’s also the charismatic Samara Weaving.
And last but in no way least, the music, of course, the music. I can’t wait to see all the performances. Especially the musical face-off that happens at 0:35 seconds into the trailer.
Marton Csokas, Sian Clifford, Alec Newman, Alex Fitzalan, Ronke Adekoluejo, Jessica Boone, Jim High, Ben Bradshaw and Sam Barlien also star.
Chevalier Release Dates: AprIl 7th, 2023 (US)…

‘It’s the swagger, for me’. 😁
😁😁😁! The swagger is always super important. 😁
Looks fantastic. I really don’t like trailers who give spoilers! I hope this is just one of many “untold true stories” that will roll out in the coming years. ABOUT TIME.
Very much. I think you’re right. It’s been time for the ‘untold true stories’. May they continue to come, and be made as well as this trailer suggests, if not better.
I am always for the underdog. Now I have to see this! Thank you. 😎
I’m certainly there with you. Also, I’m going to try my best not to look up his story to refresh my memory too much until after I see the movie. Wish me luck! 😁
Resist the urge! Be strong! lol 😎
Ok. I’ll start meditating on it and manifesting strength right away. 🙏😁
❤️❤️❤️😎
Looks like a classic underdog story with a good cast. Compelling trailer. Hadn’t seen or heard of this one until now. Sounds worthy of a watch.
I feel equally enthusiastic. I only wish that the release date wasn’t 6 months away. I guess I can always re-watch teh trailer another 500 times! 😁
I’ve been known to rewatch movie trailers prior to a release that is still some time away. This is a safe space to admit that!🤣
Glad to hear it. I have one or two more things to admit: When a trailer is really good, I often replay it over and over as I type my post about the trailer. And sometimes… if it’s well paced and up tempo enough, I’ll even use it as ‘music for running’ Oops! Now I’ve really said too much! 😂
Both make sense to me. Heck, that’s what the studios want us to do…get wrapped up in trailers that become earworms of sorts as we get fired up for the release dates!
So true. I frequently fall right into their plans, and I’m not mad about it.
Sounds very interesting! Also always like it if those who doesn’t believe in you gets a surprise!
Amen to that! 🤓
Ooh, this looks intense and enthralling!
Two perfect words for it, I agree. 🤓 Just under 6 months to go until release.
Hey! I just posted about this trailer too yesterday. I’m so glad they made a movie about composer Joseph Bologne, I saw a MN Opera featuring his music last February, the world needs to know who he is! Plus I like Kelvin Harrison Jr. too!
Greetings! 👋
Such good timing with both have. 😁
It looks like an extraordinary story with plenty to move us all. I’m ready for something like this, especially when it’s so well cast.
I’ll be making my way over to catch up on your page shortly.
