I enjoyed Juror #2, Clint Eastwood’s latest legal thriller starring Nicholas Hoult, Kiefer Sutherland, Toni Collette, J.K. Simmons and Zoey Deutch.
Centred around a moral dilemma that Hoult’s character Justin faces, I’m happy to confirm that his emotional journey (the element that intrigued me the most) is well-mapped. I enjoyed the story edit and the way the film is cut so much that it felt like not a single second of screen time was wasted.
As far as courtroom dramatics are concerned, the thrills/moments that will keep you enthralled have little, if anything, to do with the lawyers. Because the action is everything going on in Justin’s mind – and visible on his face; very little of which he has to say out loud.
In addition to the story edit, Hoult’s performance kept me engaged the whole time, all the way through to the perfect yet frustrating ending.
Eastwood’s film may not be perfect, but I say watch Juror #2 for what Hoult’ dies with his role and the reasons above. I suspect gratitude for not being in Justin’s shoes will likely be ever-present as the movie plays.
Happy Film Loving,

I liked it too. Part of the goodness of the ending is trying to figure out the conversation.
That’s so true. I don’t know if the ending I imagined in that last moment is what’s likely to happen based on how the story is told, or if it’s what I want to happen. Perhaps it’s both.
can’t wait!
Enjoy! 🤓🥂
I love watching Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette is usually brilliant too, looking forward to this!
