Gravely injured after his intended final battle, Robin Hood (Hugh Jackman), is grappling with his past, a life marked by crime and murder, when a mysterious woman (Jodie Comer) gives him a chance at salvation.
Directed by Michael Sarnoski, The Death of Robin Hood has additional key cast that includes Bill Skarsgård, Noah Jupe, Murray Bartlett and Tabitha Smyth.
Jackman, Comer, Skarsgård, love them all. Yet this might be far too brutal for my tastes. I’ll at least try to watch it.
Faith Delaney, Elijah Ungvary, Alfie Lawless, Asher De Silva, Beau Thompson and Fintan Shevlin also star.
The Death of Robin Hood Release Dates: June 19th, 2026,(US)…

Great cast, but I’m not sure I am up for yet another Robin Hood adventure. This trailer does have a darkness about it, so maybe that will wind up being the selling point…an edgy Robin Hood tale…where he is more flawed and less heroic.
Yep, all that sounds about right. I’m looking forward to finding out what others think of it. Especially if I surprise myself and end up watching it, like I did with The Substance (2024).
I already did my Robin Hood marathon last year, so I’m prepared to see another version of the story. That being said, I’m not a fan of gritty reinterpretations of beloved heroes that try to make them seem like bad people. Just a personal preference.
I’m not the most familiar with the details of Robin Hood’s story, but I am curious to see how well they balance the grit and darkness with his heroic side.
I wonder who Bill Skarsgård is paying. I’d like to see it to find that out.
I’m going to guess, probably a despicable villain. He’s good at those. 🤓
I’m intrigued by the darker take on Robin Hood, Hugh Jackman seems like a great fit – what inspired the director to go this route?
Great question. I’m hoping we’ll find out during the promotional process. 🤓🤞
