New animation/adventure/romance Not Alone is the love story of Joe, a rocket mechanic, and Fran, an astro-botanist.
Starring Timothée Chalamet, Selena Gomez, and Brett Goldstein, Joe and Fran develop romantic feelings, all while three runaway aliens take refuge in Joe’s home, seeking the rocket Joe has been working on as their escape.
Directed by Jonathan del Val, Claire Dodgson and Eric Guillon, additional key cast includes Jamie Demetriou, Diane Morgan, Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris.
I love how adorable the synopsis is.
I may be forgetting a few films, but I can’t think of many animated romantic stories outside of those made by Disney, so this is extra intriguing.

It’s very much in a style of Illumination, which is great because it’s different from the rest of the pack (Disney/Pixar, DreamWorks, Sony and Skydance). Story feels like an easygoing romance with a twist, which would be better if it wouldn’t be revealed. Then again the trailer could have revealed only the first 15min. We’ll see.
This looks really good for Illumination, but of course they couldn’t resist having cute marketable characters like I suspect the aliens will be.
