A new The Angry Birds Movie trailer has landed and I definitely like it more than the teaser

International Trailer

The use of Michael Jackson’s Bad seems to fit a little better now, perhaps. I can’t wait to find out if I’ll like this movie more than The Secret Life of Pets released two months later

The Angry Birds Movie Release Dates May 13th, 2016 (UK), May 20th, (US)…

INSIDE OUT (2015): For The Well Imagined Characters & Clever Story

Inside Out (2015), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), Sadness (Philis Smith), Joy (Amy Poehler)

Inside Out is an intelligent animated film about a young girl (Riley) and her emotions. Particularly how Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust try to agree on the best way to get through Riley’s days after her surroundings change unexpectedly.

Directed by Pete Docter and Ronnie Del Carmen; Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Bill Hader, Phyllis Smith and Lewis Black provide the key character voices.

Being an animated movie, cuteness was always likely; but my, oh my is Sadness the cutest! Watch it for a little education on how memories work, why each one is important and Amy Poehlers wonderfully hopeful voice.

TRAINWRECK (2015): The Good Things…

Trainwreck stars Amy Schumer, the comedienne behind one of my favourite shows on Comedy Central, Inside Amy Schumer.

Written by Schumer and directed by someone I like to refer to as ‘comedy film king’, Judd Apatow, Trainwreck was a romantic comedy I had high hopes for.

Overall, the film isn’t bad. The scenes I enjoyed most are in the middle of the film and they include the conversations between the characters played by Bill Hader, LeBron James and/ or Amy Schumer. Ezra Miller’s Donald is also particularly memorable.

Some scenes in the first twenty minutes unfortunately felt quite long and the ending left me craving creative disruption of the romantic comedy genre, probably more than I ever have.

I often find that whenever comics star in their own comedy films, the narrative moves too slowly for my liking. It probably has something to do with me being used to the sketch show / standup comedy format where the point is rarely ever dragged out unnecessarily; at least not by the good comics.

Part of the problem with Trainwreck is that I already enjoyed a good number of the funniest moments in the trailer. So, once once again, I may have liked the trailer more than I did the film. Those who are not already quite familiar with Schumer’s comedy will likely love the movie more because of the general newness. The rest of us might end up doing more smiling than laughing.

THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE (2016): New Teaser Trailer For Rovio’s Hit Mobile Game

The Angry Birds Movie (2016), Josh Gad (Chuck)
The Angry Birds Movie (2016), Jason Sudeikis (Red)

You’ve played the hit game created by mobile gaming application creator Rovio, you know the rage, now check out the movie trailer…

The Actors lending their voices to the characters include Josh Gad as Chuck, Jason Sudeikis, Maya Rudolph, Bill Hader, Danny McBride and Peter Dinklage.

I’ve only played the game once or twice, so perhaps serious fans have a different opinion. But this teaser trailer didn’t do a lot for me. Michael Jackson’s Bad also doesn’t quite feel like a good musical fit. The good news is, this is only the teaser so hope remains.

Currently though, The Secret Life Of Petsanother animated movie also out in summer 2016 is the one I want to see more.

TRAINWRECK (2015): Always Ready For A Judd Apatow Comedy

I love New York and I love film. When a promising new comedy is set in New York city, the joy is very real.

Trainwreck, the latest Judd Apatow directed comedy is my can’t ‘wait to see’ film of the moment.

Just the kind of fun I need.

Happy Trainwreck 🙂

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS (2008): A Definite Seth Rogen Win

This is absolutely not a horror film, but who knew that Seth Rogen playing scared out of his mind could be so entertaining?

Coming from the same team that delivered comedy hits Superbad (2007), Knocked Up (2007) and most recently, This Is The End (2013); Pineapple Express is an action packed comedy bromance between two mid twenties, weed smoking males who are played rather well indeed by Seth Rogen and James Franco.

There’s plenty to enjoy in this movie, including the dialogue, well choreographed action sequences, a series of oddball characters; not to forget the undeniable beauty of James Franco’s Smile… 🙂 …something I hadn’t been aware of until this movie. Oh yes.

Last but absolutely not least, should you find yourself to be a fan of writer/ director, Judd Apatow before watching this movie, then you know you’re in good hands.
