I’m certainly not the biggest fan of circuses. As such, I’m glad it looks as though by the end, this movie will put a big smile on my face. Also, it has elephants!

Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart and Jack Black return for Jumanji – The Next Level, a sequel to 2017’s rather popular Jumanji – Welcome To The Jungle.

Directed by Jake Kasdan, this time when the friends are back in Jumanji, the team realise that things are quite different within the world’s most dangerous game…

This looks as though it’ll be fun. I like the twist and look forward to more of Hart speaking like Danny Glover.

Madison Iseman, Awkwafina, Danny DeVito, Colin Hanks, Alex Wolff, Nick Jonas, Danny Glover, Ser’Darius Blain and Rhys Darby also star.

Jumanji – The Next Level Release Dates: December 13th, 2019 (US)…

SMALLFOOT (2018): New Trailer From Channing Tatum, Zendaya, Danny DeVito…

Smallfoot (2018), Channing Tatum
Smallfoot (2018), Channing Tatum

In Smallfoot, Channing Tatum plays Migo, a Yeti convinced that the elusive creatures known as “humans” actually do exist.

Zendaya and Danny DeVito also star while Karey Kirkpatrick and Jason Reisig cowrite and direct.

As I watched this trailer a few things went through my mind. Firstly, what a brilliant idea! I totally didn’t see the twist coming. Second, How nice for Channing Tatum. Finally a movie he’s made that his young daughter can actually watch all the way through. Last but not least, of course Tatum’s character had to have great dance moves. Of course!

I’m really looking forward to this one and I’ll be careful not watch any more Smallfoot trailers because I just really want to be surprised and delighted by the film.

Additional cast includes Jimmy Tatro, Yara Shahidi, Gina Rodriguez, James Corden, LeBron James and Common.

Smallfoot Release Dates: September 28th, 2018 (US); October 5th, 2018 (UK)…

JIM & ANDY: THE GREAT BEYOND – WITH A VERY SPECIAL, CONTRACTUALLY OBLIGATED MENTION OF TONY CLIFTON (2017): New Trailer For Jim Carey & Andy Kaufman Documentary…

Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond – With a Very Special, Contractually Obligated Mention of Tony Clifton is a behind-the-scenes look at how Jim Carrey adopted the persona of idiosyncratic comedian Andy Kaufman on the set of Man on the Moon (1999)…

Yes. This documentary has one of the most awkward titles ever, but what’s one to do, really? I’m a Jim Carey fan so all I have to do now is make sure I watch Man On The Moon before I see this. That way I’ll also get to learn about Kaufman, a man I’ve heard of before by know very little about.

THE COMEDIAN (2016): The Thing I Liked…

The Comedian (2016), Robert De Niro
The Comedian (2016), Robert De Niro

I recall someone saying that The Comedian, a comedy starring Robert De Niro, Harvey Keitel, Danny DeVito and Leslie Mann wasn’t great. This surprised me considering the very talented cast. I of course watched it anyway and can say that there were moments where I laughed and smiled.

Directed by Taylor Hackford and with De Niro playing a sort of lovable rogue in the shape of an ageing insult comic named Jack Burke, I wouldn’t call this film one of the most memorable movies in De Niro’s filmography. It reminded me a little of what I love most about Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm; a situation comedy series where Larry David plays a version of himself. David’s character says what he truly thinks and does precisely as he wishes even if it makes everyone around him, especially his loved ones extremely uncomfortable therefore keeping them in an almost constant state of ‘suffering’ – to great comic effect.

The Comedian is no where near as funny as Curb but it was tolerable enough for me to watch the entire thing. If anything about this movie can be described as forced, it’s perhaps the comedy element. When considering the events that take place in the film and how they unfold, I certainly wouldn’t describe much of it as ‘bursting at the seams with cliches’ at least not from my pesrpective – and that’s a good thing.

I say watch it if you must but only if you must.

WIENER-DOG(2016): New Trailer Starring Danny DeVito, Zosia Mamet & Greta Gerwig

Wiener-Dog (2016), Danny DeVito
Wiener-Dog (2016), Danny DeVito

Starring Danny DeVito, Greta Gerwig and Zosia Mamet, Wiener Dog is a new comedy about a dog’s journey as it travels around the country spreading joy. Looking at the photo above,  it’s clear that the joy on offer is needed quite urgently…

The last movie I saw starring Greta Gerwig was Mistress America (2015) and unfortunately, it turned out to be more fun in trailer form than feature film. Still, I’m going to remain very hopeful about this one.
Julie Delpy and Ellen Burstyn also star.

Wiener-Dog Release Dates: June 24th, 2016 (US); July 28th, 2016 (GER)…
