Such an interesting trailer. I’m drawn to it for reasons including Gyllenhaal and a need to find out if the young boy is indeed a prodigy. Maybe the teacher is mistaken – or worse mentally ill.

Assuming that the young boy is indeed gifted, my heart too would desperately want his father to come to his senses – but kidnapping…?

Starring Gael Garcia Bernal and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Desierto is a Jonas Cuaron directed drama about a group of people trying to cross the border from Mexico into the United States.

Even though the following trailer looks mighty terrifying, I’d say that  it’s  not quite a horror movie;  just in the same way that the brilliant Apocalypto (2006)  is also not a horror film…

I’m ready for the manhunt / chase sequences and story of love and survival.

Alondra Hidalgo, Diego Cataño, Marco Pérez and Lew Temple also star.
