100 Streets is the new drama starring Idris Elba, Gemma Aterton, Tom Cullen and Franz Drameh.
Directed by Jim O’Hanlon, it’s based in contemporary London, England and focused on the different lives of three people who live within 100 streets of each other.
Considering that none of the characters in this trailer seem to be having a particularly good time, I’m hoping for brighter days for at least one of them.

Based on the best selling book by Uzodinma Iweala and directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, Beasts of No Nation is a film responsible for one of my favourite trailers of 2015.
Starring Idris Elba and Abraham Attah, the movie tells the story of a young boy called Agu, his experiences from being a smart, imaginative and relatively happy child in an unnamed African country, to a child soldier fighting in a brutal civil war.
Both of the main actors deliver impressive performances in Fukunaga’s movie. As a first time actor, newcomer Attah does a great job of portraying a child’s emotional journey from a life of relative ease to all that he was forced to become in order to survive. It’s no surprise that young Attah has been nominated for and already won a number of notable awards.
Beasts Of No Nation (2015), Idris Elba
It goes without saying that Beasts Of No Nation won’t be the easiest movie to sit through. But it’s worth it for the story and movie-making artistry. There’ll be no finding yourself ‘wanting for memorable scenes,’ because you’ll find beautifully scored, choreographed and captured moments. The ‘take the bridge’ sequence being just one.
The fact that plenty of us will probably only ever have to experience most of the unfortunate things that happen in Agu’s story from the other side of the screen will leave you grateful. Perhaps even more thankful for those who happen to be closer to the story than most.
Now, I’m going to watch the Beasts Of No Nation trailer again, just one more time (for today). I simply love it that much. After a while, it’ll be time for another viewing of the movie because, you know, I probably missed something subtle yet very important the first time around.
Directed by Andrew Stanton and Angus MacLane; Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks return in Finding Dory, the sequel to Disney Pixar’s big hit animated film, Finding Nemo (2003).

Along with Nemo, Marlin and Dory, I’d also really like to be reunited with the family of turtles met by Dory and Marlin, en route to Sydney Harbour. That would make me very happy indeed.
It’s time for another re-imagining of a popular story from your childhood.
I recall the story of The Jungle Book somewhat vaguely and I’m looking forward to this remake because the cast includes Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o and Christopher Walken.
Directed by Jon Favreau, this promising re-telling has relative newcomer Neel Sethi as Mowgli.
I’m curious whether I’ll warm to Scarlett Johansson’s Kaa voice. Not quite sure at this point. The good news is I’m most ready for Bill Murray as Baloo.
Idris Elba is terrifying in the tension-filled trailer for his well-titled new movie, Beasts of No Nation.
With Cary Fukunaga, a brilliant director who’s best known for television series True Detective at the helm, combined with Elba’s intensity and young actor, Abraham Attah’s fresh talent, I think we’re in for another very promising film scheduled for 2015.
