There are a number reasons I want to watch this. 1.) Acting queen and all round smart woman, Natalie Portman. 2.) Alex Garland, writer and director of my favourite Alicia Vikander movie, Ex Machina (2015) – I’m still fantasising about a sequel that I know will very likely never happen.) 3.) This trailer is great! It made me so happy that I punctuated watching it with the words ‘Yeah baby!’ and the thought, ‘This is what I’ve been waiting for.’ I’m so ready. I just hope it isn’t too similar to Arrival (2016), a movie I’m still yet to watch.
Tessa Thompson, David Gyasi, Cosmo Jarvis and Sonoya Mizuno also star.

I am looking forward to this film as well, for the reasons you mentioned. Btw hadn’t thought about an Ex-Machina sequel; that would be great. There’s no way it could surpass the brilliance of the first film, but it would be interesting to find out what becomes of Ava, and Caleb too for that matter.
I was so ready for more by the end of the movie that I thought about if for weeks. I’ll probably forever dream of sequel. In fact, I just checked Vikander’s IMDb page just in case she was playing Ava again. No joy. 😦 😄
Her performance was so convincing that I forgot she was in the movie! Like I thought it was just Domnhall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, and this robot actor lol. What do you think about her as the video game character, Lara Croft in the next Tomb Raider movie?
That’s funny. 😄 I made sure to look up who the wonderful actress that played a robot so convincingly was, right after the movie ended. Well, after I stopped praying ever so intensely for an immediate sequel.
As for Vikander’s Tomb Raider, role, I wrote a few words about my thoughts last week. Basically, I’m hopeful but right now I’m just really impressed by Vikander’s physical fitness. 😊
