House of Gucci; director Ridley Scott’s latest crime/drama/thriller is all about the highly ambitious Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga). Specifically, her impact on the Gucci family fashion empire. The kind of impact that ends up leading to betrayal, murder and revenge.
Salma Hayek, Jared Leto, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons and Jack Huston are among the key cast.
I actually saw the initial teaser trailer for this movie several weeks ago, but I wasn’t especially excited then.
Now that trailer two is here, I’m still uncertain about how it will turn out. I mean, the seemingly unnecessary prosthetics, how overly dramatic it strangely feels, and if I’m fully honest, I’m in two minds about Gaga as Patrizia.
Still, I remain hopeful. Especially since this is a Scott movie, and I love Salma Hayek. Also, it should be interesting to see a version of the Gucci story that will help me relearn why, if I recall correctly, none of the Gucci family owns Gucci anymore.

I like the cast so I’m going to give this a try. But I’m not really expecting much out of this so hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised.

I’ll summarize Worst to best
Worst….. Jeremy Irons! Can u believe that? Then Adam driver. And tied at “pretty good” are Gaga, Al Pacino and Jared Leto. The expert think Leto was the best overall but had 1 critical mistake throughout his pronunciation.
I cannot believe it! But then again, Irons is no Hugh Laurie and this is not House. 😁 Accents can be very difficult. And since I’m not Italian, I’m glad that at least the bad ones won’t seem as disastrous as Don Cheadle’s Cockney accent in Oceans 12 (2004). There’s no way he had a dialect coach for that.

I love the actors and I suppose that will be the biggest draw. I think it would have been good to have main characters who did not have to fake the Italian accent though. That seems like it will be the biggest flaw in people’s minds. Thanks for sharing!
I agree with you, fully. But no doubt money is the reason why the cast is full of Italians from America. I haven’t yet dared ask my Italian friends what they think of the film.
