Cherry is the latest crime/drama starring Tom Holland, Jack Reynor, Ciara Bravo and Kelli Berglund.

Directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo of Marvel’s Avengers movies; Cherry is the story of an Army medic with post-traumatic stress disorder who becomes a serial bank robber, after his drug addiction puts him in debt.

I’m curious about this; for reasons including a bank robber not wanting to be rude to ladies. Though, admittedly, I can’t deny that I was hoping to be more excited about this movie after seeing the full trailer, but I’m not.

Another movie about a polite/gentleman bank robber that comes to mind is Robert Redford’s The Old Man & The Gun  (2018).

Do you find yourself intrigued by Cherry? It’s OK if you just want to know why the movie is titled Cherry?

Thomas Lennon, Michael Gandolfini, Jeff Wahlberg, Pooch Hall, Forrest Goodluck, Adam Long, Fionn O’Shea, Suhail Dabbach, Jamie Brewer, Nicole Forester and Anna Colwell also star.

Cherry Release Dates: March 12th, 2021 (US), Apple TV+

Happy Film Loving

  1. Tom Holland has good screen presence. I don’t think all criminals are bad people. PTSD doesn’t justify bank robbing but it sure gives something to explain that kind of extreme behavior. I want to see this one and hope I can get access to it if it doesn’t release on DVD or netflix.

    1. You’re absolutely right about PTSD and criminality. I’ve seen a few films/documentaries in the past about the subject and ‘complex’ seems to be the word. It’s just unfortunate that something about the way this trailer is edited means that it didn’t hit in a way that got me very excited. Nevertheless, I’ll be hoping for a great result when it’s available on Apple TV+ next month. Hopefully it won’t be too long from that before it’s available on DVD.

      1. Yeah me too, I feel the same way about this, the premise sounded great from your description but the trailer made the story seem very generic and the characters seem really uninteresting….either a bit of a fail on whoever made the trailer or the movie isn’t that good, or maybe it’s just me hehe 🤪
