In new romance/sci-fi/thriller Reminiscence, Hugh Jackman is Nick Bannister; a scientist who’s discovered a way to revive your past; an ability he decides to use to find his long-lost love.

Written/directed by Lisa Joy, additional key cast includes Thandie Newton, Rebecca Ferguson and Natalie Martinez.

As a forever fan of The Greatest Showman (2017), my favourite musical, I’m happy to see Jackman and Ferguson on screen together again. I already can’t wait to meet the ‘long-lost love’ character and learn about what’s going on with her.

Reminiscence looks like one of those movies that has a ‘the-making-of’/behind-the-scenes featurette that I’m going to want to see.

Lastly, anyone else get the semi-strong Inception (2010) vibes from this trailer?

Angela Sarafyan, Cliff Curtis, Brett Cullen, Daniel Wu, Teri Wyble, Thomas Francis Murphy, Marina de Tavira, Sam Medina, Mojean Aria, Jules Hartley and Sue-Lynn also star.

Reminiscence Release Dates: August 18th, 2021 (UK); August 20th, 2021 (US)…

Happy Film Loving

  1. The “Inception” vibe you’re getting isn’t coincidence. She’s married to Jonathan Nolan, the younger brother of director Christopher Nolan.

    1. You must mean Lisa Joy. I hadn’t connected the dots but now it makes perfect sense! 🤓 Let’s hope there’s a reasonable amount of difference between the two movies; especially since J. Nolan is also a producer on Reminiscence.

  2. Yes, Lisa Joy, the director. 🙂 Looking forward to your view after you see it. I’m looking forward to it, also. Tired of simple films. I feel the Nolans have given Hollywood a little depth and breadth in their filmmaking.

    1. Thank you, I can’t wait to see it. August feels far away right now, while also simultaneously hurrying towards us. 🤓
I agree that the Nolans’ work always offers a very welcome difference. 🥳 Long may they continue to thrill us.

  3. I Think Rebecca Ferguson would be Great Choice For The Invisible Woman/Susan Storm In MCU Fantastic Four

  4. Hello! I found your blog through our mutual friend Peggy. I posted about this too, absolutely cannot wait for this. I too am a huge fan of The Greatest Showman!

    1. Greetings Ruth, and thank sfor stopping by! 🤓
For me, just hearing or seeing the title The Greatest Showman puts a big smile on my face. I’m glad to meet another fan.

Not too long to wait now for Reminiscence. Even though I do feel awake and ready to enjoy it right now! 😁

      1. I’m glad to meet another fan of Greatest Showman too! I’m still kicking myself for not seeing it on the big screen. I saw it late on streaming and fell in love with it that I bought the movie! Love, love all the songs!! One of my faves is Never Enough. So to see Hugh n Rebecca reunited is gonna be awesome 🥰

        Can’t wait for Reminiscence!
