Bridesmaids (2011) and Spy (2015) director Paul Feig has a new action/comedy movie called Jackpot! starring John Cena, Awkwafina, Simu Liu and Seann William Scott.
Los Angeles is the setting for the chaos that ensues in Jackpot! after a grand lottery winner is announced. Why? Because if you bought a ticket that lost, but you succeed at killing the winner before sundown (which is legal), all the money becomes yours.
Two things. Firstly, may such madness never actually come to be, please, and thank you. Secondly, Cena tends to be fun in action/comedy roles like this one. So, bring on more of this absurd LA-based adventure that’s likely to keep a smile on my face post-viewing.
Are you also drawn to Jackpot!?
Josh Diogo, Marian Green, David Conk, Rabon Hutcherson, Brian Ashton Smith, MGK, Dolly De Leon, Steven Shelby and Jordan Salmon also star.
Jackpot! Release Dates: August 15th, 2024 (US)…
Happy Film Loving,
G
I liked Cena in Ricky Stanicky, This one should be fun.
Ah, yes! I remember liking the trailer for Ricky Stanicky. I have to get to watching it.
this one looks fun!
Sure does. I could watch it right now.
Cena has been in a lot of raunchy movies, but I still like the guy. Became a fan of his from wrestling days. The man is not just a pretty face with a god-like body. He’s a decent actor and an insanely driven individual. I see him and The Rock as a lot alike.
Cena and Johnson certainly do share an incredible drive. It’s inspiring to watch, and they seem to be decent humans, thank goodness!
Also, I used the wrong word for Cena’s movies. They aren’t raunchy to me, more just not-very-good fluff.
I see what you mean about ‘not very good fluff.’ I recently saw him in Ricky Stanicky. His performance is fun. But it’s a movie to re-visit for favourite scenes rather than rewatch the whole thing.
