SUPERGIRL (2026): New Trailer Starring Milly Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley…

Milly Alcock, Eve Ridley and Matthias Schoenaerts are the stars of the new Craig Gillespie-directed Supergirl movie. An action/adventure/sci-fi film that follows Kara Zor-El’s story and her darker origin before she made her way to Earth.

I’m not as enthused as I’d like, but I am a little curious, and sometimes that can be enough.

What are your thoughts about Supergirl thus far? Did the final line in the trailer, ‘He sees the good in everyone, and I see the truth,‘ sufficiently pique your interest?

Emily Beecham, Wil Coban, David Corenswet, Alice Hewkin, Ferdinand Kingsley, David Krumholtz and Jason Momoa also star.

Supergirl Release Dates: June 26th, 2026 (US & UK)…

Happy Film Loving,

G

  1. Supergirl doesn’t fill me with the excitement that Superman did. I’m glad they feel like different characters, but it still feels like more of the same. The final line is good, but the sense of humor and Guardians of the Galaxy feel isn’t working for me at the moment.

  2. I first saw Milly in House of the Dragon and think she’s great in that, but I didn’t see her as Supergirl when it was first announced, and I still don’t see her as Supergirl now. After seeing the trailer, it almost makes me think this is going to be for teens. I am disappointed…but we’ll see if the next clips offer more encouraging vibes.

    1. I’m not getting that Supergirl feel from Milly either, honestly. It appears DC’s recent casting decisions just don’t align with my ideas of certain characters. I think you’re absolutely right, Bruce, about the teen target audience. Fingers crossed, we’ll feel better about the next trailer they release. 🤓🤞🤞

  3. Wow! I love that trailer! I will definitely see the film when I get the chance and hope it’s as good as the trailer makes it look. Thanks for sharing all the upcoming stuff, you are doing a great service as it’s so hard to find good films nowadays. Looking forward to this though 😀

  4. I like the actress from the “Dragon” series and she looks comfortable in this role. I also noticed the Guardians humor vibe, which works for me. Trailer looks like a fun ride and I’m all on board. I still remember the original Supergirl movie, but nothing more than I liked it as a teenager. Or perhaps I just had a crush on Helen Slater. 😀
