Directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, it’s a drama/romance/horror/sci-fi/musical film about the bride of Frankenstein.

The teaser trailer released for this movie a few months earlier didn’t fill me with the most confidence. It’s great to see that this edit is quite the improvement. So much so that, as a known non-fan of musicals, I’m not even mad at the singing featured here.
May this be a musical in the way that The Greatest Showman (2017) is a musical. Meaning it’s good, with high-quality, brilliantly performed songs.

It has the same vibe as the TV series, “Gotham” to me. As a streaming movie, ok.
Even though all I’ve seen of Gotham is the trailers, I see the similarities too.

I’m a huge fan of the Mary Shelley Frankenstein book and in general a fan of Frankenstein’s Creature so I’m always curious to see new interpretations of this story since it has such an immense potential for new stories.
