Read my spoiler-free movie review of Cafe Society (2016).

Woody Allen; writer/director of Blue Jasmine (2013), one of my favourite films is back.

Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart and Blake Lively are the stars of Café Society, a film set in the 1930s about a young man who moves to live and work in Hollywood.

Having just recently watched the unfortunate disappointment that is Hail, Caesar! (2016), I don’t know about seeing yet another movie about Hollywood from way back when. I may end up liking this, one can only hope, wait and see.

My fingers and toes are crossed.

Café Society Release Dates: May 11th, 2016 (FR); August 12th, 2016 (US)…

THE SHALLOWS (2016): New Trailer Starring Blake Lively…

The trailer for Blake Lively’s latest movie, The Shallows has my attention.

Trailer 1

Trailer 2

Lively’s character finds herself in a less than desirable predicament involving mother nature and a creature of the deep.

I’m excited to see how things pan out for her and to see what new survival skills if any I can acquire in the process, as delusional as that might be.

The shallows Release Dates: June 24th, 2016 (US); July 1st, 2016 (UK)…

THE AGE OF ADALINE (2015): For The Beautiful Romance…

The Age Of Adaline (2015), Michiel Huisman, Blake Lively
The Age Of Adaline (2015), Michiel Huisman, Blake Lively

Blake Lively is the star of the Lee Toland Krieger-directed fantasy/romance, The Age Of Adaline; a movie about a woman rendered ageless following an accident.

Also starring Michael Huisman, Ellen Burstyn and Harrison Ford, Krieger’s film deals with the bittersweet realities that surface due to Adaline’s unique situation, and with particular reference to her romantic life.

I enjoyed the movie, especially the romance, even though there was a point towards the end when one of Adalines decisions annoyingly felt incredibly rash/hasty.

I’ve given it a bit of thought and think that if I were afforded the option, I’d probably choose to  have the ageing process slowed down quite a bit rather than stopped completely. That way everyone can hopefully just put it down to good genes.

Did anyone else notice the resemblance between the rather handsome Michiel Huisman and Shia LeBeouf? Not to say that they’re twins, of course.

Happy Film Loving,
