MAGIC MIKE’S LAST DANCE (2022): New Trailer Starring Salma Hayek, Channing Tatum, Caitlin Gerard…

It’s been nearly eight years since the second Magic Mike movie, Magic Mike XXL (2015) and 11 years since Magic Mike (2012). This time the original director Steven Soderbergh is back with Channing Tatum for Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

Also starring Salma Hayek and Caitlin Gerard; we catch up with Mike following a business deal that went bust. Mike heads to London with a wealthy socialite (Hayek) who lures him with an offer he can’t refuse.

I’m not quite sure how worthwhile I’ll feel this third instalment of the Magic Mike films is by the end. But I do love Salma Hayek, impressive dance moves, the London setting, and how fun this all looks. Plus, what a great way to promote Magic Mike Live, which has existed in London for some years now.

So, fans of Tatum, Hayek, Soderbergh, dance and London; are you intrigued?

Gavin Spokes, Christie-Leigh Emby, Nas Ganev, Ayub Khan-Din, Christie-Leigh Emby, Barbara Ryan and Daniel Llaca also star.

Magic Mike’s Last Dance Release Dates: February 10th, 2023 (US & UK)…

THE ASSIGNMENT (2016): The One Thing I Liked…

The Assignment (2016), Michelle Rodriguez
The Assignment (2016), Michelle Rodriguez

My instincts after I watched the trailer for the latest film from Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver, The Assignment was correct. By which I mean, it’s not very good. In fact, this is one of those movies you should probably watch if at all, whilst doing something else. Reason being, you may find yourself in serious trouble for not respecting your own time enough.

Directed by Walter Hill, the story centres around a hitman (Rodriguez) who is turned into a hit woman (Rodriguez), without prior consent. Therefore, vengeance must follow against ‘The Doctor’ (Weaver) responsible.

I know, I know, the clue about how this film would turn out is in the trailer – but something still had me tuning in and that is the interesting plot. If only it could have been executed more effectively overall.

An important question at this point is probably whether The Assignment is one of those movies that’s so bad it’s good? No is my answer to that. With most bad films that I find myself able to sit through until the end, there’s usually some semblance of good within. In this case that would be Sigourney Weaver’s character, ‘The Doctor.’ As dodgy as most of the dialogue is, she had a few lines that amused me. One of them being:

‘I’ve never concerned myself with my partner’s pleasure.’

With that line, what she means is exactly what you think she means. 🙂

The Assignment, steer clear if you can.

THE ASSIGNMENT (2016): New Trailer From Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, Tony Shalhoub…

the-assignment-2016-michelle-rodriguez

The Assignment is the latest Crime / Action / Thriller starring Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver and Tony Shalhoub. Having fallen into the hands of a rogue surgeon known as ‘The Doctor’, hitman Frank Kitchen is turned into a hitwoman, and naturally, revenge follows…

Is the concept of The Assignment interesting, ridiculous or both? I want it to be good but I can’t say that this trailer gives me plenty of confidence. Especially once the sound editor became trigger happy with those trailer sound effects from 53 seconds in.

The Assignment Release Dates: 2017 (US)…
