PRIME (2005): Beautiful Romance, Plus A Note To Follow Your Heart & Listen To Your Head

Starring Bryan Greenberg, Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep, Prime is ideal if you’re curious about its main subject, the relationship between a divorced woman in her late thirties and her younger 23 year-old boyfriend.

The Ben Younger-written/directed film is a drama/romantic comedy that features several moments that realistically depict a romantic relationship between the two main characters

Greenberg and Thurman share great chemistry and both deliver good performances. However, Meryl Streep’s role as the long suffering Jewish mother is one of my favourite highlights.

For me, besides the beautiful romance, the film works as a reminder to always follow your heart in love and career, but do so while never completely ignoring your head, especially where love is concerned.

The musical score is also notable.

SUFFRAGETTE (2015): New TRAILER OF THE WEEK

Suffragette (2015), Carey Mulligan

At least three of my favourite actresses are in Suffragette, June’s first trailer of the week.

Starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter and Meryl Streep, I’m almost certain that this film is going to be great.

I’m more than ready to watch and honour the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement.

Suffragette Release Dates: October 12th 2015 (UK); October 23rd, 2025 (US)…

JULIE & JULIA (2009): In The Name Of Passion And A Love Of Food

When you sit down to watch Julie and Julia, I highly recommend having a few of your favourite foods with you. I say this because you will find yourself with at least one or two serious cravings.

Based on the life of American Chef, Julia Child, and Writer Julie Powell, Julie and Julia focuses on two ladies with a shared passion for food, cooking and feeding the people they love.

Besides the joy of a well-executed drama about two women who quite literally come alive whilst indulging in their favourite pastime, Julie & Julia will likely inspire you to dedicate more time to pursuing your own passions.

To look at it another way, should the task of silencing doubters be a hobby of yours, or one you wouldn’t mind taking up, then look no further to see it done with such admirable aplomb.

If you’re still unsure, two words. Meryl Streep.
