My guess would be that PTSD is more or less the same for war veterans now – as it was back then. I can’t wait to find out in this movie. The beautiful friendship and how Rees handles the challenges both men face are additional reasons I’ll be watching. Also, Garrett Hedlund starring in a promising movie… I’ve looked forward to this day. I really have. I’ve also been hearing the name ‘Dee Rees’ for a few weeks now. It’s time I found out why.

Lastly, Carey Mulligan is back! Yeah! – for she’s one of my favourites.

I’m most looking forward to seeing the smart way in which this story comes to life, the way that it shows the realities of war compared with America’s perceptions. I wonder if my favourite war movie will still be The Hurt Locker (2008) after this.
