Alejandro González Iñárritu is the director of The Revenant, a much talked about movie with a brilliant cast. Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Will Poulter and Domhnall Gleeson to name just a few.
In addition to the talented film making team, all anyone really needs to know before watching is that The Revenant is a tale of vengeance, the very highly justifiable kind.
Iñárritu is well known for his innovative shooting style and the way in which The Revenant is shot is no different. Not to say that you’re going to find anyone appear to be levitating as is the case in Birdman (2014) – Iñárritu’s previous Oscar winning movie. However, as the film’s magnificent teaser trailer revealed back in July 2015, you’re going to experience some very impressive things that you probably haven’t experienced before. There’s also the original musical score and beautiful wintery cinematography.
If all I’ve mentioned so far still isn’t reason enough to watch, there’s the possibility that The Revenant may just result in a long overdue Best Actor Oscar win for Leonardo DiCaprio. I mean, did you see the standing ovasion he received at the Golden Globes when his name was called for Best Performance By An Actor In A Motion Picture (Drama), for this very movie?
Bring on February 28th 2016, an Oscars presentation that will be interesting for several reasons.
Happy Film Loving 🙂
