I’m excited about John Turturro and Margherita Buy’s new movie, Mia Madre (My Mother) because it looks like a great character study at a specific moment.
It also happens that the main protagonist, played by Buy, is a female director working on a film during an existential crisis. Certainly an interesting predicament.
This Mia Madre trailer is a beautifully edited, featuring good music and intriguing moments of drama and comedy.
Giulia Lazzarini and Nanni Moretti, the film’s director, also star.
Mia Madre Release Date(s): March 25th, 2016 (US)…
Happy Film Loving 🙂

This trailer has that ‘this is probably going to be good’ quality about it. That special unnamable (insert famous French phrase here)…
‘Je ne sais quoi’ 🙂
It’s true and the addition of John Turturro always helps.
Its not a film for a mass audience, more arthouse melodramatic. Depending on whether you have lost a parent, you’ll either love it or hate it.
Thanks for the info. 🙂
I was hoping that it would be worth seeing because it’s well executed regardless of what the viewer may or may not have in common with the theme.
