Greg Berlanti directs Nick Robinson, Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel in Love, Simon; a new coming-of-age drama about the hilarious, scary, life-changing and complicated love story of a young closeted gay man…

As a friend pointed out, this movie may just be the first mainstream teen film where the central story is about the coming out of a young gay man. This isn’t a thing I’ve seen before. I could be wrong of course, but at this moment, I recall no other mainstream teenage movie with a gay male protagonist.

I’m therefore curious enough to watch it because of this uniqueness and because Nick Robinson wasn’t terrible in Everything, Everything (2017).

Talitha Eliana Bateman, Katherine Langford and Keiynan Lonsdale also star.
